Hey folks,
I am using Pixlr now, but looking for an alternative. I have read through some older posts, but didn't see any specific Photoshop version to use or a similar product. If you could either throw up here a specific photoshop program you use, link or any other you would suggest that would be great.
thanks
Just go to adobe.com and grab the latest version of photoshop. You can get it pretty cheap for a monthly rate.
If you're a scumbag like the rest of us, download the trial and google a keygen + crack.
Photoshop is Photoshop so you're good to go with whatever version you can get your hands on for the cheapest price. Unless you're doing some serious design work you probably won't benefit that much from the newer versions. We're on version 6 so you can probably pick up version 5 for pretty cheap; that's what I'm using now. You can also opt for Photoshop Elements, which is a trimmed down and much cheaper version of regular Photoshop; it has a much more user friendly interface and has most of the effects and tools you'll need. I actually use Photoshop Elements 95% of the time and only turn to regular Photoshop when I need to create something "amazing," which is almost never lol. If you have the money you should buy (or download/rip) the Adobe Web Premium package, then you get Dreamweaver, which is a must have and goes hand in hand with Photoshop. If you want to own your own copy but don't want to spend a lot then buy the CS5 version. For internet marketing you don't need the newest one.
I'm on a Mac and I like Pixelmator for like $15

Thanks everyone. I am on a PC, not a Mac, but will check out these different tools. I am trying to just find something that is not to expensive, but at the same time works great and fairly simple to use. Talk soon and thanks again for the feedback.
Tijn you magical rat you. Do you know of a Windows-based tool that can do this?
Gimp = photoshop open source

For LP creation: WYSIWYG Web Builder, the most awesome piece of software for making a landing page in 30 minutes
Photoshop and Coda is my exact simple setup.
pixelmator looks pretty neat.
If you can deisgn and code, photoshop and coda is really all you need. I do the photoshop part and outsource the programming
Ok Cool,
Thanks again to all. I have actually found the Adobe photoshop extended CS6 for $190.00 so that should work. If anyone knows a better deal or option on this let me know. I am on a PC.
thanks
Pretty normal if it's an academic/student version. I prefer the *free* approach.
