I've spend a few hundred testing adult dating and the biggest thing I've noticed so far is that everyone is doing the same damn thing.
It's essentially endless variations of the "single moms need sex too!" animated carton banners, and/or a basic/ugly looking "here are the rules for sleeping with our members" LP, always with the same wording.
Somehow I doubt that's all one pub running multiple domains & trackers. But it also makes me wonder if that's the best way to do it, or if it's just a social proof thing and everyone is copying because everyone else is doing it that way. I mean I get why an ad like that might have higher ctr, or why a LP like that could result in better quality for the advertiser, but I've never something as copied as that.
I'm looking to find someone to create similar animated banners of my own and see just how good it works, but I'm worried about them being ripped so easily with no recourse.
Does anyone have any ideas for how to separate myself from the pack on the LP? I've been reading that at times it's better to connect as a person than as a company and this definitely seems like one of those times. So maybe something like "Here's how you can have great success with this site" or "why regular dating sucks" and including some testimonials if I can find any real ones.

Keep going until you can at least stay positive ROI even if it's very low and increase volume. Your stuff will get ripped but if you can work hard you can stay positive - but the effort won't be worth it at first.
Once you have the volume you will have an easier time cutting how the middle men everyone else deals with that makes the ROI low.
Cut out the display network - buy direct from the site. You know they take a 30-50% cut right? Same thing with the affiliate network. Cut them the fuck out and go direct. They also are taking 30-50% usually, the biggest myth in this industry is the size of network margins IMHO.
With both those factors gone suddenly your 5% ROI is 100% ROI. You can then run stuff that if all the small guys copy you they will usually lose money even though the same stuff is profitable for you.
This is really the simple key to making large scale affiliate stuff work - cut out the middle men that are cutting into your profits. Laugh when the small affiliates copy your stuff only to loose money.
"networks taking 30-50%" -- not sure if serious, please some network owners respond to this and I'm pretty sure this is 100% bullshit
edit -- please show one example of a direct payout vs a network payout on a reputable network where the difference is anywhere near 50% on street level payouts?
Same ads everywhere, every minute of every hour of every day..... but what does that mean?

So you just have to become better and keep coming up and testing new ideas constantly.
Improving your skills is what makes you the most money at the end of the day.
There's always room to do something different. Just fuck them by staying ahead of the game.
