Destination URL question (8)

Destination URL question

I have submitted a few campaigns on facebook and I'm having some issues with changing the destination url. The first campaign I submitted everything went fine. For the first image my destination url was something like http://mysite.com/base.phpxxxxximage=1
the next image I submitted I changed it to http://mysite.com/base.phpxxxxximage=2 and so on.

The next campaign I submitted I noticed the url wasn't changing after the first ad. When I went to submit a similar ad I would change the image #. But when I checked the destination url in the edit ad section is would still be the original URL. I've tried editing the destination URL after the ad has already been submitted also and it's still not changing.

Also, right after I change the url it registers a click in my tracker with the right image number. But when I get actual clicks on the ad they all show up under image 1.

I can't figure out what's going on or what I'm doing differently from the first campaign but something is not right.

Thanks

Sounds like a bug? You could split your images into separate campaigns - might avoid this problem and will also make it easier to test all images at the same time.

Ok. Would you generally recommend creating a separate campaign for each photo? I know I've seen it mentioned before but adding all the targeting options for each picture seems like it would be very time consuming.

If you want to test images in parallel it is the best way, i.e. making one campaign per image with 2-5 dupes in each. If you're using a platform that accesses FB via the API then it's not a problem but is more annoying if you have to do it manually. Another upside is it can make rotation of ads on and off easier. A downside being getting keyword stats for the entire campaign/demo/angle is more difficult as everything is so split up.

Since you're unlikely to start all images at once maybe just make 3-5 campaigns first with a single image each and then make new campaigns as you need them?

I've noticed this bug too on two of my accounts. The only way around it I've found, is to create the new ads with the create ad button and hope they fix it faster

Yes I'm having this problem as well... Shitty Facebook.

No matter what I rename my t202kw, it all shows the same keyword (on tons of my ads) under my p202 analyze tab... FML. F Facebook.

I can only optimize the ads based on my own "feel"... ie. I keep the high CTR ads. Hope this will be fixed soon!

I emailed them about it and they replied that they couldn't replicate the same results on their end. I created a campaign to get some screen shots of the problem and everything started working right lol. If you haven't tested it in the last 24 hours it might be worth trying again.

Press enter on your keyboard after entering the new URL. It should force the system to check and register the new link.

Cheers
