Slowly getting into mobile too, what I often see now is that offers die very quickly, are paused/stopped whatever.
So I'm asking myself atm, is there such a thing on mobile as a campaign that is running like a clockwork and makes xy profits per day, as you can achieve it with ppc for example, or is mobile more like a day trading game where you run as much volume as you can in a short period of time (1-2,3 weeks tops).
Or is both possible/achievable?
There do have some offers can live a long period of time. I know some offers have been living for about two months. Like mobile subscribed offers..
But it's hard if you run some dating and short form submit and some lead gen offers, IMO
Good luck!
Usually mobile subscription type of offers will stay longer as long as there is non of the aggressive affiliates that push volume with deceptive marketing, then there it comes the massive user complaints hence the carrier companies will start hunting down those offers or change their policies.
Money is good to be made but I just hate those bad apples that get some amazing offers ruined for other affiliates that run it the properly.
PS: Gaming offers usually will die pretty fast as most of them just need an initial boost of traffic to their apps.
i recently scaled my mobile campaign to ppc... man this is really stable when compared to mobile... it feels like printing moneys on autopilot, seriously. I finally have time to actually do some marketing work and split test properly instead of fighting with dying or not capped traffics and disappearing offers/changing quality every day.
Two months is the longest solid campaign I've had.
Games go up and down fairly quickly, since a lot of advertisers just want to get their numbers high enough for organic growth to kick in.
As was also mentioned, offers go down when affiliate abuse the offer, e.g., "(1) Virus Alert" for a battery app. The solution? Run compliant and send good quality to your advertisers. As you become a more trusted affiliate, you will get more cap and offers that aren't necessarily open to everyone else.
We've had some long term short form leadgen stuff. Running 6+ months now.
I've got a mobile dating offer thats been running for at least a year now and is still in the green every day!
Dating and Leadgen is pretty stable on mobile if you work with the right partners. It is more of an issue of traffic source and how competitive it is.
I've had campaigns on mobile run for 6-9 months at big volume. Definitely longer life than on social traffic.
I actually find mobile campaigns to last decently long due to the lack of quality spying and copying.
I agree a lot of offers go up/down (especially in the last 2-3 months). But other than that when i get a campaign going it runs pretty smooth. The main thing i notice is lack of consistency in leads. Some days i'll get 50% roi, others 120% roi, so i average a lot of the camps on a weekly ROI basis.
