Wuzzup. First post, yeah.
Anyway, I joined mob partner mobile affiliate network just to take a look around and saw this for the "top" earners this week:

Does this seem kinda low or is it because so many people are throwing so much shit at it? .12 EPC doesn't seem like much.... I don't really know too much about mobile so maybe someone can enlighten me. Also, this network has offers that are like 10$ payout... is this really not converting?
BTW, on another note.. how do you guys decide a good payout for an offer or do you even care? Some payouts I've seen are something like $.50, I'm thinking to myself.... riiiighhhhtt, is that even worth trying to do? Even some others are like 1.40 which don't seem like much, but I guess there is a lot of inventory out there so it could work...
does not seem low for mobile at all, actually looks about average for a campaign that has not been fine tuned yet. keep in mind, in mobile esp buying cpm its not to hard to get a .01 cpc. and on your other note, dont worry about payout, payouts mean shit, just look at cpc vs epc or if you buying cpm then eCpm is king
My average EPC, over all my mobile traffic, is about 0.04. (And it's profitable.)
ya in mobile you going to get low epcs, and you going to get low epcs, but the volume is HUGE so you make up for it in volume.
I have some campaigns that are very profitable at an EPC of $0.013, just imagine that you can get volume at a CPC of $0.01 even if you're just making $0.003 for each click, with volume there is still lots of money to be made.
Furthermore, you just need a good offer that the advertiser has huge budget with so that you don't have to hunt for offers again and again, therefore you can focus on optimizing that beast and scaling that to other traffic sources.
PS: You can even make a campaign profitable with a pathetic conversion rate like at 0.75%, you just need the right source and offer.
Where are you guys getting clicks for that cheap? On lots of networks they have minimum's of like $0.05?
cpm...
And direct fully managed media buy if you can put in an IO for a minimum buy, you can always negotiate with them if you have a decent testing budget.
Those EPCs actually look really good. Anything over .10 EPC is usually a crush scenario for us. We can make most offers work with .05 EPCs.
CPM + high CTR Ads = were talking sub .01 a click
I think our average network EPCs hover around .06 to .07 across all our offers.
I need to find some of this cheap traffic. So far in my tests with jumptap and their .10c minimum bid it's impossible to be profitable.
ajph > Go CPM!
IOs are definitely the way to go if you can swing the budget!
I had around 0.12 EPC on my optimized mobile campaign, which was profitable, so that should be fine, it varies but EPCs on mobile are usually quite low.
I know htis is a 'How long is a piece of string' quetsion but what would you consider an above average/good CTR for push mobile traffic?
Yo @russian
We talking DL or LP here homeslice
?
on jumptap for example, what kind of ctrs do you need to need to have 1cent clicks?
@ maynzie.
I think he's talking about DL. LP tend to be around ~.40 in my experience (lp to offer)
@blackberry, an ad that has a CTR of 5% at a CPM bid of $0.50 equates to a 1 cent click.
I've not been able to achieve $0.01 clicks at jumptap. And a 5% ctr seems very high, so my guess is these cheap clicks are coming from a reduced CPM bid? (the minimum on JT is 0.50)
2%ctr with a $0.25 CPM bid equals $0.01 clicks, right? But in return the eCPM would blow, so how to get enough traffic?
yeah, ive never seen 5% CTRs, anyone confirm if its possible?
Dude. All these while i was wondering how you folks are blowing it up in the Mobile Arena. It seems like the key here is going CPM...
To be honest i'm quite astonished about you guys getting those 1-5 cent clicks, AND still sustainable in VOLUME.. CPC ain't really the way to go because for US market (as a bench mark) if you go lower than 10 cents your traffic is fucked..
So really most of you profiting are going with the CPM high CTR ads... and ads that can go as high as 3-5% CTR?
Please enlighten us mobile noobs!
@joejoechen
If you're promoting the most popular affiliate offers, on the most popular traffic sources, with the same targeting as everyone else... $0.10 CPC might be to low yeah
For most traffic sources, in my experience, it's going CPM. Test in CPC, then overight in CPM.
Your rep will lower the min ppc if you ask, I assume they will lower the min CPM too.
