Hey what´s up everyone. Got another Follow along for yo ass. I´m going to try to be as transparent as possible on this thread. By the way when it comes to facebook I have no fucking clue what I am doing. So this should be fun.
For this follow along I´m using my real facebook account.
Offer: US Mate 1 FB 18-24
Network: Wolfstorm
Angle: Women seek men 18-24 who like bike riding....(Why not? I´m thinking this is a niche people are passionate about)
Targeting ad copy and image example:
Objective: Get CTR over 0.2 and get my bids lowered. From there I´m going to test out different landers and try to get profitable.
No lander just Direct Linking for now.
Going to be testing few different types of images:
Chicks on Bikes
Tatooed chicks
Chicks headshots with bike helmets
and straight up hot chick headshots
Got a brand new account so I´m prolly going to get raped on CPC´s for now.
By the way got a question for you guys.
1. So if the chick´s boobs are too big than FB will ban me? If I show chicks in bikinis on bikes will I get banned? Is that right?
2. For dating camps do I have to target only singles or can I also target people who haven´t indicated relationship status?
3. For dating can I target men who haven´t indicated interested in Men or Women?
1. Chicks boobs = too big = likely to get advert disapproved, not acct banned. Same with chicks in bikinis on bikes, would in most cases be considered showing too much skin = advert disapproved. Don't keep trying to submit images that have been declined already and play the safe side with a few more risque images in there and you'll be alright. Running dating offers that are red on MyWoT, baiting and switching, cloaking etc is what is more likely to get your account banned.
2. You must target singles for dating ads. It's in FB's advertising terms and is a requirement. France is an exception for other reasons.
3. As above, must be singles, must also select interested in the other sex. In that respect FB doesn't yet allow for gay/lesbian ad campaigns.
Haven´t got any disapprovals yet. Getting very little traffic for the ads that were approved. I thought FB was going to be a fire hose of traffic but looks a little slow.
I will post data when I have enough clicks. At the moment I only got 3.
By the way thanks for answering those questions zeno. Being able to put risqué images and not worry about getting my account banned is a huge relief.
Oh if you sneak risque images through and manage to get them running they can and will still go through, retro all the ads and possibly ban your account, FB is just fickle like that. It's just a risk you take when running dating. Just try to keep the majority of everything you do 'clean' so as to not attract attention. Imagine you're playing Hitman and every risque ad and retro/disapproval makes your alert meter rise up as if you bumped into cartel members, mumbled and then ran off into some bushes.
Haha... good analogy. That was a fun game. I always used to get pissed off when I got caught and go wild on everyone with the ballers(pistols).
I´m still not seeing any traffic. Got any suggestions anyone?

Ya, I see the suggested bid range there is 0.36-0.61, which is probably far too low. Jump up to say 0.71, 0.81 etc and see when you start getting impressions.
yep raise your bids, doesn't mean you will pay that bid will just ensure you get some free flowing traffic

I just upped my bids to 0.71 cpc. It was a bit painful doing that since the payout is $2.80. But I trust that my cpcs will go down.

So I made a lander to try to get around this.
It is based on the ones I typically run on POF. Usually don´t like to show my landers but I´m going to be transparent on this one. So the beginners can learn from this follow along too.

By the way FB reviewers already looking like they are fucking up my tracking. FB says I have about 8 clicks and my prosper says I have 172.
I imagine you guys get your spend, click data from FB and use Prosper or CPV Lab to see what is converting and make excel sheets to make data easier to read.
If so does your prosper give accurate dates for conversions. Cause mine doesn´t.
i think fb does not allow mate1 anymore?, also some of your lp images are bit over the taste for fb approvals team. unless your account is new and you have 30-40 ads waiting for approval,172 clicks by approvals team are way too much, i think they are busy fapping on ur Lp
I have about 44 creatives waiting for approval and they have been submitted twice. And yes my account is totally new.
1st time was a DL attempt
2nd Time was for the Lander
I ran one camp before this one with an equally risqué lander didn´t have problems. Then I again I didn´t get much traffic either.
So after Day 1 Results
Spend: $18.61
P/L: $18.61
No conversions after 38 clicks
This is what my prosper looks like for this camp and only 18 are real.
In conclusion need to test another offer.
I think I am going to raise the age range and run a M1 25+ offer that I know works and take out the free shit in the banner.
By the way this is how I have set up my camp in FB.
After reading Mr grunin talk about the fact that you should make small ad groups with about 4 or so images each. Otherwise FB will give too much weight to one or two creatives in a group.
bro. your lander is kinda wild for facebook. might wanna tone it down a little. and if you're running US market, start with 1.5 in bid. you're just bidding at that, you wont pay as high.. maybe for the first couple clicks but if you can get just a 0.06% CTR to start, it will drop, you're just payin 50-70 cents per click, which is good, then optimize from there.
What I do is run all my ads in the same campaign. Facebook will pick a few and throw traffic at them, the ones that perform the best will keep getting the traffic and the others will drop off. From 15/20 ads I usually find about 3/4 get consistent traffic.
Once you've got what you consider enough statistically significant data for each of these ads - pause the ones with good CTR and delete the ones that got traffic but didn't perform. Facebook will then pick some other ads to throw traffic at and you can repeat until you're left with a bunch of paused, good CTR ads.
Run these all at once and gather more data - after a while facebook should drop your CPC. What I do is, every few hours, cap my bid at my CPC. There are several caveats you'll need to watch out for when purposefully lowering bids, search the forum and make sure you soak up all the information you can.
Not all of your ads will get the same volume, some none at all, but the beauty of this is when one of your ads CTR drops off, because you've capped your bid, it will stop getting traffic and another one of the ads will take its place.

After the suggestions from ajph, joejoechen and ironman on the lander I made a new one. Might even put Mother Teresa in one if keeps the review team happy.

Put up 3 creatives all got disapproved in under 5 minutes. All of them were headshots. WTF?
I´ll try again after I get home from work. Maybe they´ll get approved later.
If any elements of your new ads have been disapproved before (headline, copy, url) - change them. Think outside the box on this one, you don't need to change things much.
Thanks Ajph for the advice. I had to switch up my offer because the mate1 offer I was going to try is for POF traffic only.
So at the time of the disapprovals I was running TRUE from EWA and I think that was the real problem. I got this message from the review team
I don´t think Facebook likes true.
Anyway I did as Ajph suggested and changed my copy around and even tested out the pic at the beginning of the follow along of the girl on the bike and that got disapproved in seconds.
I am looking for an offer that converts for US traffic preferably for this age group if not 25+ and something Facebook friendly. Anybody have any suggestions? It would be nice to see if this angle works.
@joejoechen are you serious? All the dating ads I see on facebook use headshots.

For now I loaded 5 creatives. Have switched the offer to Dating Agency from NeverBlue. I haven´t heard anything about this offer but the payout is 4.90 and it is a SOI and 18+. So if the offer does convert than the high payout will give me a little breathing room and I won´t need insane conversion rates to get his profitable.
Also I am bidding $1.51.

What's wrong with a 10k demo? Might burn it out faster but doesn't mean you can't get profitable quickly. Just run low volume and pull out early if there's no sign of monies up for grabs.

My cpc´s are high as hell. Even though my CTR is 0.72. What Kind of CTR should I realistically aim for on Facebook?
Also is your FB testing strategy this?:
-Load about 5 creatives into one ad group.
-if the ad that is getting all the traffic has good ctr pause / if bad CTR delete
-Repeat with the next ad
-ad new images to group after every delete
If so how many clicks is enough data to delete or pause?
Facebook is not allowing me to change the last number on the url (to track pic) if I hit create similar ad. Is this happening to anyone else? Tried in Chrome and Mozilla. It was working fine before but not now. So I have to create new ad group for every ad or else I can´t track pics.
I changed my bid right before I took that screenshot by the way. I was bidding 1.51 and my cpc´s were 0.90.
Your CTR is .072% (which equals .00072 or 1/14th of 1%), not .72. If your CTR was .72, your CPC would be scraping the floor at 5 cents or lower.
Your headline and ad copy are really boring and lacking any curiosity factor. Why would anyone respond to your ad?
You need to change just about everything. Guys respond to ads that generate unrelieved tension in their subconscious and their groin. Some ideas:
- get picture with some skin/cleavage. Your ad will pretty much succeed or fail based on the pic alone.
- if you can't get away with skin, find the prettiest girl you can, and re-crop the picture to show her face and neck. I've had good, not great, responses using pretty faces and no skin.
- use pics of weird/wild girls - colored hair, emo, tattoos, piercings, smoking. You just can't use the phone shots. I've never been able to get those approved.
- guys like younger girls. All guys. Heck, I've read here that under-18 girls get the best response. Yes, we're all borderline pedophiles, just like most cops are borderline criminals.
- Ads with the person hiding their eyes never do well. Make sure the girl isn't wearing sunglasses
- Write a better headline. Heck, even a version of "Hey Asswipe, even losers like you can get a girl like this..." could work since you're insulting and challenging his ego at the same time. Create tension. The more tension, the greater need to relieve that tension.
- Don't mention the company in the ad. In fact, that'll probably kill your response big time if they even bother reading the ad.
- Write better copy. Clean up these versions and give them a try:
Girl, mouse, or yourself - which one would you like to have fun with tonight?

Just a few ideas. Not that any of them will be approved or work, but you need to throw away your inhibitions, troll in the gutter a little, and figure out what guys really respond to...

Probably not, but if you notice the underlying theme on STM - all the moderately successful (or better) have been banned from FB and other places multiple times. That's because they're pushing the edge trying to find an edge. If you want to compete and succeed, you need to do this. We all need to do this.
The easiest, most consistent route is by trying to sneak in as much sex as possible. Sex sells. Boobs sell. Full-body pics of scantily clad chicks sell, even to other women.
Everybody wants to fuck, but our Puritan society tries to deny sex even exists (OMG - we must protect our teenagers even though they lost their virginity two years ago)...

I have been hiding away trying to move a profitable POF campaign to FB and it just isn´t happening. The offer is Black people meet.
Really high postive ROI on POF but on FB it is at about negative 30%.
Demo is huge 583,040 users
Targeting 18-30 year olds.
Bidding 0.72
My Main problem is CTR. Highest creative has 150,000 imps and 126 clicks and a CTR of 0.078%. This is getting me a cpc of 0.44 but my epcs are at about 0.33. These 0.11 cents of difference are killing me.
It seems like the more I increase my budget the lower my CTR gets.
Any advice?
