How to get the #1 spot ?

Hi guys,

I know most of the ppc threads about adcenter are about getting more traffic, however i wanted to create one of my own to get targeted advice - sorry for the lack of originality here

Here's the situation, I have a campaign that's doing really well, i'm getting .07$ clics and 300%+ roi but i can't seem to be able to get pass the 500 clics and avg position 4 .. even if my QS is 10 for all the keywords broad and exact (yes i'm cloaking).

Daily budget is set at 10K$ ( i'd be the happiest man on earth if adcenter could use it all! haha) and delivery mode is already on "accelerated".

Any advice ? My max cpc is set to .20 for exact and .10 for broad but avg cpc is lower than .10 for both, do you think it would change something if i setup the max cpc to .50$ ? Because i don't see any other thing i could change or optimize to get more traffic and/or a better position besides my max cpc.

Thanx in advance for your time and insights guys

Mehdi

what about duplicating everything and getting more traffic with a second account ? not linkable of course... great numbers ;-)

if you have tried to bid very high cpc and that didnt help then it might be that:

1) other bidders have better account history (ie have been bidding longer)

2) your account is flagged or limited somehow - try with a new account

if you havent upped your bids yet then do so - work out what your break even point is and run for a couple of hours with that cpc

Hey Mehdi,

In order to increase your QS and your ranking, you need to:
- Increase your eCPM (you have to increase your CTR and/or your CPC)
You'll have to split your campaign on the tiniest adgroups you can.
I use SpeedPPC to do that. Most of my PPC campaigns doesn't have more than one keyword per adgroup.
- Make sure that the keyword you're bidding on appears on your landing page, in your title tag and in your content.
I always insert the keyword dynamically in my LP to do that.

Also, account history is important, as Tijn said above.

Hey thanx for your feedback guys !

Tijn i'm trying upping the CPC to the break even point right now, i'll see how that goes.

Other than that, julien I already have 10/10 QS for all my keywords, and ctr is decent too so i'm testing new ad copies and increasing cpc to try to improve my overval ecpm!

Also, there was one day where for some obscure reason my credit card failed billing and i've read on another thread that also can hurt the volumes.

Hey Ackbar,

I do this in order to target my ads better, so they exactly fit the keywords I'm bidding on.
It's a bit extreme, but this technique has always worked for me.

Since I do it with SpeedPPC, it just takes a second
