Hey guys,
I'm a FB newbie and recently launched my 3rd campaign (UK Dating). My first two were absolutely duds with horrible ad CTR's of 0.02%. With my UK dating campaign I am seeing some conversions but the problem is the super high CPC suggested bid prices. I am getting suggested bids of $1.30-$2.5.
I've read that low CTR can damage account history and affect bid prices. Will my account history slowly change over time with the addition of high CTR ads or is it best to just create a new account to lower the suggested bids?
On new accounts the 'suggested' is always high, no need for a new account, just keep pushing for a good ctr on your ads and the cpc will come down. Don't pay attention to the suggested it's never accurate
With new accounts you could upload a image you know will get a high CTR but will be retro disprove. It would give your account access to lower initial cpc bids faster then blind testing will but it is a little risky. Be ready when FB checks your account/s out in more detail and they will. Just appear legit and as professional as your can. Perhaps running a non-profit campaign will make you look more like a professional. This was just my experience good luck!!
Here's one:

Please note:
It WILL be retro disproved but It had .233 on a 4.1 million demo, .18 cent clicks in USA. Just make sure you don't get too many disapproval. After a 1-3 never upload that image again.
It works OK on Pof as well, can you see her nipples?
lol john, you're teaching a NEWBIE this stuff? if you dont know what you're doin you're gonna get burned really bad..
But yeah like above, in Facebook the only that matters is your "Approval Ratings", which affects how quickly / how easily your subsequent ads get approved. Your previous history of CTR doesn't matter. Yes it will drive up your "suggested bids" but fuck that, it's never the true bid. You can bid as high as $2 but if your CPC is high enough you'll still get those 15-20 cents clicks in a couple days..
Whether you use tricks or just take the simpler route, the idea is increasing CTR overall on your account. It technically shows your advertisements are more liked by facebook users, and slowly your suggested bids will go down.
Johns trick will work, but have very legitimate campaigns going on at the same time. Overtime up your CTR with better ads/images, and your whole account will get better overtime with better bids.
So is it the CTR of your ads for your entire account that effects your CPC, or is it the CPC of individual campaigns? If I have a great CTR for one campaign, the CPC for newer campaigns will be lower?
