Hoping someone here can help!
I thought up of a business idea that has mass appeal. I did a bunch of research and can't find anything else like it at the moment, but it would require a fairly big startup/manpower.
I was thinking about just trying to sell the idea/business plan, but have no idea how to go about it without someone just taking the idea.
I did some research into a patent, but this is for a website/information and not a physical product.
Can you pm me more details of the actual product? Most people will be skeptical so we need to know if its worth our time...
No go on getting a patent for it, without having to actually create it?
One of the first rules you learn as an entrepreneur (or, at least I did, in Silicon Valley) is that an idea means *nothing* -- and is worth very little.

This is why if you pitch an idea to investors, most sophisticated ones won't even sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). I never do when investing in small projects, because what matters most to the success of a company is more-often-than-not the team and not the idea.

In short: you're not gonna be able to sell the idea, so may as well try to gauge interest and JV with someone on it if you don't have the manpower or money to do it. Or, just give it away and make the world a better place, gain some karma points, etc.
