Quick question:
When I visit http://j.maxmind.com/app/geoip.js it doesn't return the correct city and area code, it gives information for a town that's about 20 miles away (I live in San Francisco, CA). So I'm wondering...
1. Why is this info inaccurate and will it be inaccurate for users if I use it on LPs? (I live in a major US city, they should be getting it right; other browser based IP checkers I've tried get my location right)
2. Is there a way to fix it? Probably a dumb question but worth asking
3. Is it accurate for you all?
Thanks!
It's accurate for me when i visit that page
Works for me..
Weird, OK thanks for confirming.
Snoverkill,
I think the script is related to the ISP Hub or something for your location. All GEO IP scripts have me in a city about 2 miles away.
Works good for me too.. I have never had any problems (that I know of) using their free downloadable database either
