best tracking software 2012?

What is the best tracking option for tracking my facebook / pof links? I know there is prosper202 but it feels a bit janky, anything better?

self hosted or 3rd party that is popular

CPVLab is probably next in the popularity stakes after P202. I use them both in fact.

08-17-2012 07:18 PM #3 aquasun (Member)

any other solutions or just use prosper202?

08-17-2012 07:44 PM #4 kokofai ()

If you don't want to pay, just go for P202. Else, you're left with CPVLab and Bevo.

I know there are few affiliates use custom built tracking system.

I'm using something custom right now....just don't have the will power to start making pretty graphs!

P202 is old school, but it gets the job done.

If you can afford it, and are willing to pay for something truly amazing, then the next release of Tracking202 is what you want to save up your monies for: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=388659127854077

Interesting, what are some of the new features? When's the Launch date?

08-18-2012 02:10 PM #9 dconstrukt (Member)

just make the new 202 easy to use and setup.... please.

08-18-2012 05:40 PM #10 flowmotion (Member)

Cpvlab outperforms prosper by far in my opinion. Much faster to setup and you can make changes on a campaign level without the campaign links changing. Cpvlab will save you a ton of work and let you move way faster!

I was going to hold off and do a big release, but right now it's on a rolling release cycle where I'm pushing new features live as soon as I get them done.

The first step is the UI and UX. The new look is based on twitter bootstrap, def worth checking out: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/. As Tijn mentioned, what you are seeing is an out of the box theme without any of the customizations.

I'm about 50% done, it's taking a bit longer than planned. It will be worth the wait! Think of this as the make things easy, fast, and responsive release. I feel that every single tracking platform out there that I've seen, current p202 included, leaves much to be desired. The complexities need to be removed so you don't have to be a rocket scientist, while keeping it advanced enough to do rocket scientist type stuff when the need arises.

Here are some of things I expect to hear, when people start using this new release:

Anyway, if you want a say in what comes next, please comment here:

This one built in PHP a well?

08-19-2012 02:20 PM #13 dconstrukt (Member)

hopefully i will say that. the shit right now IMO is too complex for normal ppl to setup and use.

Nana is it gonna have a self hosted option?

08-23-2012 11:19 AM #15 wyffgoal (Member)

@Nana

Is this coming release able to fully track mobile components? Thanks.

08-23-2012 01:58 PM #16 aquasun (Member)

It's all a bunch of shit man, no clear winning platform yet.

Could be some money if someone made an all clear out winning platform.

Try CPVLab, nothing comes close to it. I bought it after using prosper202 for an year. Love it.

Thank you for the reviews. I'm new to tracking and installed both, I find CPVlab is a bit of easier to handle.

09-07-2012 02:28 AM #19 usernameistaken (Member)

CPVlab rocks. Way easier to deal with then p202. Split testing is a bliss with cpvlabs.

CPVLab - for sure.

As a side note, i just came across a pretty slick self hosted platform (it's a wso), and was quite impressed...

Worth checking, going to install it in a day or two and let you know what's the deal.

Search for "Demon Tracking" on the warrior forum

A few little bugs in there still from what I've used and I personally don't think it's as quick as CPVLab

CPVLab is top notch! with amazing customer support.

With that said, a slicker design would be awesome...

I'd have function over form any day of the week. I actually quite like the simplicity of the layout.

Anything end up happening with that? I stumbled across Demon Tracking again just now and wondered whether they were confronted about ripping off P202 or if was confirmed they did that.

Nothing yet

Hi

If you want an easy to set up, self hosted alternative to CPVLab then check out Demon tracking. They did a WSO on it about a month ago. Really easy to use.

11-01-2012 12:37 AM #31 dconstrukt (Member)

something thats setup specifically for vendors and/or affiliates.

like you select one or the other and the options change for each.

That and it would be nice if it was all AJAXey so you didn't have to wait for page reloads n shit to change the way data was displayed/sorted.

That and API integration with FB for the sole purpose of pulling real-time click, CPC and CTR data to add to dat optimisation. *drools*
Oh and primarily S2S tracking, non-vital things can be client-side.
If you can develop something like this, you win.

I wonder whether what we want is something like MobAffTracker but turned on it's head for non-mobile + some other things added, integration with PPC platforms rather than mobile platforms. Alex, comrade, do it for the motherland.

Would a hosted solution be acceptable at that point?

...or a high price point for "self-hosted"/whitelabel? ...as MobAffTracker is now.

11-01-2012 07:39 AM #35 zeno (Administrator)

Well... if you are doing enough volume to be able to pay for hardware that's going to be better than what MobAffTracker offers, then you should be able to afford that price point.

Hey Guys,

Just going to jump in for a minute to offer insights about tracking that I've discovered while building our Mobile Tracking Tool.

Selling to affiliates is not sustainable and doesn't offer much growth potential.

1. Most affiliates have very tight pockets and can't justify paying for enterprise features
2. Many affiliates that buy software expect it to be "Push Button Systems"
3. Some affiliates will never trust hosted solutions no matter how many safeguards you put in place.
4. The affiliate "market" (unless your selling to Warrior Forum) is quite small

With that being said what we are trying to do is target agencies, networks, and large media buyers with the Agency version of our tool, and use those profits to keep building features that I know affiliates would love too. In an ideal world we would have unlimited time and resources, unfortunately thats not the real world, so we had to make some tough choices about which features to roll out in what order.

With that being said here is what we have in the pipeline: MobAff Feature Requests

Things affiliates may like:
1. Landing Page Module for custom LPs
2. Pulling Reports Directly from Ad Networks that offer API

Also, some affiliates are starting to use our tool outside of Mobile. Although we are very focused on mobile specifically we may build out some functionality for other uses like PPV, Social, Search, and more.

Stay tuned we're doing our best to meet everyone's needs and offer a price point that makes sense to everyone.

I want to thank you for your continued support. For those of you who want training videos and documents visit our Training Section.
