FB 'like' costs are ridiculous now

You can no longer get $.1-.2/like that you were getting 2 months ago now. It's well above $1 per like. Anyone frustrated like I am?

^^And oh, this is all US.

If you have a great fan page and looking for more likes, you might want to consider Facebook mobile ads. Cheaper. You only can use fb mobile ads through fb ads manager at google chrome... Under placements

Fake your likes on the LP. Cheaper :P

True. Fake your likes. They act like seeds to bring in new REAL likes. My Be2 fan page initially had around 1.4k fake likes and it is now at 2k so around 600 real likes... But that depends tho...

This is great to see, how large is your demo? I'm getting plenty of "Actions" but they're just photo page views, post page views, etc..not likes. I'm using the same ads I was a month or so ago and they're not producing the likes that they were (keep in mind that the CTR and everything is the same cause I target a large demo).

That's not what I'm going for. Trying to build an audience that I can feed content to to get actual shares, etc.

FYI.... i tested fake likes on an LP... didn't really do too much in terms of a bump either way. (tested 1 mill - 10k and none at the same time)

Interesting. I'd expect at least a bit of a boost. But I'm not gathering real likes for that, I need to build an audience for one of my blogs, and having a real audience helps spur social shares of articles, etc.

I got some .01 clicks last month all USA fan page likes. The thing is you have to really get people interacting with your page right away or they will never get your updates (spam) in their newsfeed. I am lucky to get 25% views on any post and I think that's considered pretty good. FB wants you to pay to have a post show up now.

What type of ad was this? A sponsored story or a regular ad? Out of those 43k clicks how many likes did you get?

Demo = 4 million. All actions on this particular campaign are likes. It is true that FB is pretty expensive to buy media from now..but for campaigns with good CTRs, I'm still seeing 3c-5c clicks.

I think the big thing driving up costs is more and more people are starting to use oCPM bidding. oCPM eats up all the cheap inventory and spits it back out at much higher cpm prices. Only problem is that oCPM works for the average FB ad buyer. Instead of us doing the optimizing facebook uses all their internal data to do it for you - for a price. For ad buying for facebook games I use it almost exclusively. I hate to use it because it cuts into my margin but I can't deliver volume if I go with cpc. If a ocpm campaign goes against a cpc campaign the ocpm campaign seem to always get priority.

regular ad CPM not oCPM. I don't know how many likes, I actually thought actions=likes, idk

I started creating some better ads and I'm back to getting 10-15 cent likes again. Still I feel like FB has changed much with their oCPM.

1237 likes for $200 = $.16/like

TIP FOR A GOOD AD
The key to going broad (1 M+ demo), maintaining a decent CTR and still getting relevant likes is that I target the interest(s) that fits the niche of my page:

I then select a precise interest catering to a figure with a large amount of fans (e.g.: Kim Kardashian, etc.), and this lowers the demo #, but still keeps it high enough for me to garner several thousands of likes. Lastly, I just make an ad copy (with the image of the figure) that encourages those fans to like the page (with a conditional statement pertinent to that figure: "Like this if ____ is/does ____")

Hopefully I can maintain some type of engagement with these new fans, which should interact with the content I'll feed them.

I create "Fake" fan pages for each FB Ads account, Get around 3 cent per like average. Without even trying. It is laser targeted.
