Mobile LP

What do you guys recommend for creating mobile landing pages?

DL your first campaign. You can mess with landers later.

Is there a reason for not using one?

I believe the reason is there's 1 less variable for you to deal with, which typically means less room for confusion. It gets you comfortable with wherever you're buying traffic from as well.

I'm pretty sure Dreamweaver has an easy way to make mobile LPs.

I don't actually use it (I like Notepad++) but you might want to check it out.

ya def. start out direct linking, on mobile you want to keep it short and simple and you def. dont want alot of redirects , click loss is already a issue in mobile , with a lander you are just going to increase your click loss. landers should be used once you have it dialed in and then you can throw them in the mix to see if you can get better conversions. also it depends on the vertical you are promoting . def. if you are doing dating, start with direct link

For sweepstakes offers, a mobile LP is absolutely needed. Even though it makes you lose much more clicks.

I havent used DW in a long time but it used to include all sorts of crap in the HTML of your landers - like unnecessary comments and javascript.

Pages would become very bloated.

Not sure if thats still the case.

I code my landers by hand using standard frameworks like this:

My 2 cents - if you've never run a mobile campaign before, start with a different offer where you're going to get more conversions for $50. Get a bunch of data and learn how the networks, carriers, devices work; it's a lot different than web, where everyone is on one of basically 4 browsers etc

Sweepstakes absolutely need an LP as andy said, but throwing that into the mix along with everything else on your first mobile campaign is a lot of variables.

I just dont picture someone signing up for a dating offer on their phone...
There are a lot of dating offers out there, somebody is signing up!

haha
wow man, you dont see people signing up for dating offers with there phone huh, i bet you some big mobile dating pubs would beg to differ.

I never knew people would sign up to free trials on their phone as well until Lorenzo's thread came out.

As a rule of thumb in AM, NEVER assume things until you test them out. Most of the time your assumption is wrong.

dating, adult dating, app installs, pay per call, lead gens, a lot of wap offers, normal affiliate campaigns that aren't even mobile optimized, daily deals, co-reg, etc.

A big cause of failure is "assuming." You don't think this, you don't think that. The only way to know is to test. It makes me sad when my ugly landing pages convert better than my beautiful ones.

You have cognitive bias. Keep in mind you're not the audience. I'd never click a diet ad, but millions of people have.

Anyways, think bigger.

Is it possible to iframe on a mobile LP?

Has anyone tried this?

Yeah I created a mobile coreg path and it worked... Only targeted smart phones though.

@tono
Don't guess if offers work or not, youll screw yourself over this way. Only test, then decide

I've tried iframing, its skecthy, creates a lot of errors on phones and hurts the conversion path. Also a lot of offers don't allow it, but the concept of iframing is usually prettyy good if it can be coded error free for the phones your targeting

No one has said anything about making a lander? Assuming you were convinced that a lander was necessary, how would you make one?
