Total PPV Noob regarding targets..
Require help..
How does the system work..
I saw a couple of threads here where stats were..
.xxxx.com 412 etc etc etc
xxxx.com 124 etc etc etc
How come these are different targets?
Secondly
in this post:http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...ywords-and-All
the target is registration.aspx How is that relevant?
Is there anyway I could understand the complete fundamentals of targets?
I mean how is just registration.aspx converting so much/

This is how it works
Nothing strange about it. You would be suprised what different things users are writing into url bar.

You can bid on variations of a string or url and, in some cases, get cheaper bids (Ex. .blah.com may have a bid of 0.03, but blah.com may be 0.025).
As for the registration page, you would target that because you want your pop to show when the user reaches that particular page. The example you were asking about in the other thread is regarding a Walmart email submit- by popping it on that page, it would appear to be from walmart itself and/or grab the user when they're in give-away-their-data mode. Another strategy along the same lines would be serving an ad for a coupon when the user reaches the relevant website's shopping cart.

what's the difference between these two, is it with/without the presence of the www. typed?
http://blah.com
http://www.blah.com

www.google.com, but if you bid $1 CPM on "www.goog", my bid won't affect yours and you'll still get traffic. If you look in the AffExpert tools, the URL imploder (exploder?) is what this is for- in this example, it would return:
g
go
goo
goog
googl
google
etc, for whatever the length of the URL is.
Keep in mind if you're using LI that it won't keep the "www" in front of the domain, only the first decimal. So, .blah.com, or blah.com.
If I've made a stupid mistake somewhere, mods: feel free to publicly shame me and let me know!

But this isnt walmart/resgistration.aspx...... Its just registration.aspx in that list. So it would popup for any damn registration page right?
