Need Help Getting Other Demos To Convert On UK Dating (12)

Need Help Getting Other Demos To Convert On UK Dating

So I've been working on a parent dating offer for a while and I've gotten some very very nice payout bumps from the advertiser for pushing quality leads, but regardless of all the testing I've done I can only get black female traffic to convert.

I've been using keyword targeting and I'll even post the list of keywords here so you can see just HOW I'm targeting them.

interested in men get cut-off from the picture.

Direct linked I was able to get around 4.4% direct linked (52 leads) and with THIS LP:

it gets up to 6.5% (click to conversion of course). Admittedly the LP could be a lot better if I used something that matched the advertisers LP. Thing is my click costs are over a dollar so testing that is just not working. My main issue here is getting a good CTR.

my highest converting images are a woman w/ a fro holding a baby, and a young guy with two kids on his shoulders. (both black of course). These two images get around 17% but have burned out already.

I guess I'm looking for some angles to use with parent dating. I started breaking up the demo by years to try to make it better but using these keywords my demo is maxed out at around 25k, so it seems i NEED to break into the white demo even though I've received 0 conversions after spending about $100 on it. I could expand the black traffic too, but it's tough to target black parents from the UK bc its so specific (open to ideas of course!)

okay so questions:
1) Any ideas on how to get a HIGH CTR directed towards parent dating.
2) Any ideas on how to scale to other demos (say general white parents) or better ways to target this.

really appreciate any help I can get! this campaign is frustrating but I'm so damn close to making it work that I can't give up.

That's a heck lot of keywords man!! How did you come up with so many?! Personally I wouldn't use so many keywords though but yeah your cpc's a bit high. What's the CTR anyway?

Oh and check out this post: http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/th...e-people-like/

My highest CTR was a .09 but it dropped to a .07 after a while.

I just kept going through countries and thinking lol. Thing is none of them are BIG keywords--pretty annoying.

First thing that comes to mind is find which keywords convert (or click) best by splitting them into multiple campaigns with everything the same except different sets of the keywords.

I see you've put some hard work into the keywords, props for that!

Lets start with #2 first.
Your only targeting age 40-44. A TON of single parents are between the age of 25 - 50. So I'd expand that for sure. It's hard target actual parents though, but as for targeting black female traffic there's definitely more ways then the keywords your using.

My top 3 ideas after some brainstorming: (not all will be available on FB Keywords)
1. Black dating sites (blackpeopledate.com, afroromance.com, caribbeancupid.com)
2. Targeting black male models (could open up some mega #'s for you) -- tons of ideas: http://blackcelebritymen.blogspot.com/ (think of ones that will have a larger black demo - probably models, and not artists)
3. Sites/pop stuff targeted to blacks, such as:
- BET!!!! (bet tv/bet.com)
- bossip.com
*BET.com alone will get you a ton more ideas

more ideas:
- blackplanet.com
- inspirational black leaders
- Things related to afro's (no joke)
- African american 'leagues' (theres a ton of them, sports, dance, etc..)
- type in 'African american' and 'black' lots of other things will popup

As for #1!
This is more of a trial and error thing. Just have to look around on image sites, and use adjective like 'weird' 'wtf' 'blood' 'crazy' before your keywords, and you'll find some wacky images worth testing.

Firstly, on your lander it has a testimonial from Mandi, from San Fran. If you're targeting the UK, can't you swap out San Fran for London or similar?

I've been running a single parent dating offer on POF successfully for a while, and also had payout bumps (currently $2 above the published figure), and thought I would capitalise on this by migrating over to Facebook... btw, this was my first time of running anything on fb, so probably not the easiest niche to break in with.

I was targeting white single mums over the age of 25 (UK only), and the first hurdle I came across with FB is that there is no easy way of targeting people with children (unlike POF).

I chose likes such as "I love being mum", "I love my daughter", "Mothercare", "Parenting Magazine", etc... a lot of which didn't have much reach at all, and even with around 20 keywords, I only got to about a 30k demo (age 25 and over).

Stack has some interesting ideas around targeting male models, and websites, but I think the problem you'll face is that these won't necessarily be parents.

I need to give it another go on FB, rotate more images, find more keywords.

BTW - how on Earth did you find that many keywords? Is it literally brainstorming anything you can think of, or is there some smart search engine somewhere that has a directory of facebook likes?

It's interesting, they almost give you what you want, but then you have to give up on a ton of other stuff. If you switch to 'Broad Category Targeting' under Family Status you can choose a number of options for Parents, but then you can't really zero in on the ethnicity. It'd be nice if they let you do a mix of Broad Category and Precise Interest targeting but I'm sure we'll never see that...

these campaign examples really help me so thanks for posting and im by no means experienced in this niche(especially UK) but i was thinking :

i think targeting more parenrts angle vs. general black oriented websites would be better.......a quick google search for black parenting: here is good lists of sites http://www.blackrefer.com/black_parenting.html

check out those sites demographics in that list and then also look at the advertisers running on those sites and run those advertisers demographics thru quantcast/alexa/adplanner and then maybe try running those sites url thru google keyword tool for ideas

also "top african american websites" search = http://www.dcwatch.com/iilist/100best.htm )

If your quality is backing out for the adv I personally wouldn't run via PPV - that would instantly kill the quality of your traffic; 0 capability of age targeting/filtering. Have you not tried promoting this to caucasian traffic? Seems like the only angle you've used is targeting black people.

okay so yes i've TRIED promoting it to whites but i havent had A SINGLE conversion.

On the screenshot i took, those tags are GEOIP so it only says san francisco because thats where my VPN says I am.
The age thing was just a result of some split testing. The ad I chose to show targeting of was just 1 of the age breakdown ads. I've tested from 25 to 55+
and it seems pretty even across that.

Stackman- thanks for some great tips but I don't really want to mess with PPV if I don't have to. I'd rather get Facebook churning out a nice profit first because that's what I know best. Throwing these black website url's into facebook won't do much though : / the black celeb idea is pretty damn good!

Constantin
ALL those ideas were for FACEBOOK!

UK alone has 15,860 people who like 'black entertainment teleivison', now go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BET_International
and choose some of those shows, and target those
