Hey stackers,
I'm looking to backup my whole computer in the cloud.
Can you recommend any good services that offer +2tb of storage space and that are exceptionally reliable?
Thanks!
as an affilliate, I'll tell u justcloud, haha
Hands down the best backup software I've used: www.crashplan.com
Google for promo codes... They're cheap and highly reliable.
Hmmm... CrashPlan gets some dodgy reviews (still) on their FaceBook page..... that and the fact that their Mac 'client' is Java based, where as Backblaze is a native Mac App.
FWIW , reddit seems to love Backblaze. They even did an AMA on the site:

I heard good things about Backblaze, but the main downside for me is it doesn't support multiple computers. Crashplan does, so I give it to my friends and family to backup their stuff.
I've used SugarSync and it's amazingly easy and works pretty damn well. You can connect multiple devices such as computers, ipads, mobile phones into your account and sync/backup them at simple steps (in case it's automated). The only downside and that's why I cancelled my account is that you can't backup network devices such as a NAS...Besides that, give it a try (free up to 5GB if I am right).
Dropbox simply FTW!
What? You mean you're not using MyPCBackup offers?
Backblaze for complete backup
Sugarsync for syncing between comps if data security is not a concern
If it is use spider oak which is a more secure if slightly cludgier syncing program. It still works just slightly slower and requires more tech clue. I have used and relied on all of them. Haven't had to restore a full set from back blaze yet tho.
One thing I remember about Backblaze is that they share their engineering tricks. That transparency might be what makes them popular with Redditors. The blog entries that stuck out in my mind was how they build custom storage servers:
Petabytes on a budget: How to build cheap cloud storage (2009, a 67 TB server for $7867)
Petabytes on a Budget v2.0: Revealing More Secrets (2011, a 135 TB server for $7834)
Fascinating stuff.
My PC Backup hah
