Trafficvance or Sitescout? (6)

Trafficvance or Sitescout?

I have a campaign running on adcenter that is decently profitable but gets little traffic.

It is a news style landing page for skincare offers. It converts good.

I need suggestions on where to expand from here. Should I go with SiteScout or Trafficvance? I am new to both.

I have found some good placements for my ads through WRW so I am leaning more towards PPV because I can popup my ads before the visitor can see the banners on the site but I have heard that it is a very unforgiving traffic source for newbies

Would appreciate some insight from people who have done this already

Thanks

Well I've been trying to sign up with sitescout since July 17th.

I signed up and received a confirmation email and got a HTTP error when I clicked the verify link.
I've tried logging in many times with the same login info I used during signing up but it's rejected every time: login failed.

Since then I have clicked the 'forgotten password' link on the login dialog about 14 times and clicked the verification link each time to see a blank page with "success:true" ajax response and nothing more.

I did all this in Firefox which Sitescout say is one of their two supported browsers: firefox & safari.

Then I tried calling them, goes to voicemail and their voice mailbox is full.

So for me, trying to use sitescout thus far has been a very sucky experience.

I would start with Sitescout in this case, because the mindset of a PPV viewer is much different and they are less inclined to give their credit card info to some ad that is interrupting them. But really you should try both

contact@sitescout.com

They reply quickly.

@seank, i didnt have any trouble signing up. my campaign got approved quickly as well even though I haven't added a credit card yet
Maybe you should try it in chrome.

you are right brian, i think i'll start with sitescout, considering it is much easier to track and optimize everything there compared to PPV. It's just that sitescout has such a low barrier to entry, i feel most verticals would already have a ton of competition. but i'm still gonna try it out. thanks

@wannabe, yes I'm hoping this is only a temporary technical glitch because I really want to try out SiteScout

Ok, I have to apologise here, the issue with my sitescout password reset not working was because of an issue in my own mailserver.

I'm running my own email server that I wrote myself and there was a bug in the message decoding that caused the sitescout links to contain strange characters.

It's fixed now and the sitescout links work just fine, woohoo!

All my fault, wasn't a sitescout problem after all. Phew!

Looking forward to seeing what their traffic is like now that I've created my first campaign and waiting for them to approve my creditcard...
