I was just wondering if anyone has any experience penetrating the Japanese mobile market?
Most of you jetsetters that have been there will know that they don't have lots of smart phones, but instead they have genious phones (my own term :P )
I think I could make some pretty awesome looking Japanese ads, and they buy everything. With the whole work a job from graduation to death approach the Japanese love, I think that there wouldn't be a lot of affiliate marketing happening, although perhaps more than the younger crowd?
Anyway, if there was a Japanese mobile network that served onto docomo or whatever the other ones are, I think we could destroy it.
Just wondering if anyone is in the know on Japan
No clue about the market, but i found some good demos for asia today: http://www.techinasia.com/asia-one-b...nternet-users/
Maybe it helps you
Very untapped market
Agreed we have a lot of inventory in Japan but having problems finding advertisers who work on a CPA/CPI model in that market.
There are SO many people online there but like Angry said, near impossible to find offers for it.
So no one is tapping Japan at the moment? Looks like someone should start creating some offers
The problem I would think is the lack of offers or the payout on those offers, not the lack of traffic. That's usually the problem with asian countries, higher and lower tier from japan to india.
Definitely the lack of offers.
There's lack of offers bc it's almost impossible to get short codes there as they're mostly owned by carriers. Same with Korea
... We have two offers:
1) Game CPL
2) Adult WebCam
Both offers go up / down so frequently it's hard for publishers to even monetize it.
They also have seen what other markets have done, and don't want to do it. Remember, the average consumer in Japan has two mobile phones, usually both being smartphones, and they spend 2x as much time on them as their computer. The carriers don't want, or really need, the type of offers you are looking to push.
