Let's talk free methods of advertising

A guy I know I was talking to is doing about 200 leads a day on an offer. It's extremely broad spectrum, almost for anyone.

He mentioned he's using completely free methods of advertising. This really got to make me wonder. What exactly is he doing (not seo).

So besides the usual blog postings here and there etc what else is there that can put your ad in a situation to convert?

I notice some have luck with ad exchanges. I'm more or less just curious as I don't know much about any sort of reliable method of "free" advertising.

Ewhoring, yahoo answer, twitter auto, FB auto etc.
I guess, blackhatworld could bring an answer or two to your questions

Torrents

With that kind of volume, on a broad audience, my first instinct would be to say CraigsList.

Anybody can make a killing on CraigsList and Gumtree. All you need is a bunch of autoresponders and some proxies. It's not particularly satisfying work though. Easy money but hardly a long term business strategy. Same for most free methods of advertising.

He's doing it for a video streaming service (vudu? netflix? hulu plus? blockbuster something?) Don't know.

But I don't think that kind of thing would work on something like craigslist? 200 leads a day is pretty good I think for something like that but what do I know. I was just curious what kind of "free" traffic he was using.

free traffic just reminds me of link exchanges.

Just super curious

Could be some kind of content locking if it's his own asset? Fill out the offer to view the stream...

Good luck to him though. 200 leads on auto-pilot without spending a penny is nice no matter what niche he's working in!

whatever he's doing, he's doing good. He showed me a recent screenshot of his accounts, its quite astonishing how much he is making in such a short period of time.

The joys of making profit

Yea, he's doing netflix affiliate all with free advertising, today he already got 88 leads. Does netflix pay more than 10 bucks per sign up?

I guess his real money maker is payday loans

Interesting, so maybe he's not making that much

boy, for the life of me I can't figure out how the guy is generating 200 leads a day on a netflix offer with free traffic, it just doesn't make sense. But I know almost for a fact that he's pretty much got it on auto pilot right now.

Ask him, but im pretty sure his doing it with movie site and yahoo answers, youtube videos and torrents.

How are torrents useful for advertising say netflix? The only thing I see advertised with torrents is like file transfer services and dating sites.

I always thought the yahoo answer stuff never really converted? Maybe I was wrong for thinking that?

Are you by any chance talking about a guy called "Shyderz"? He does the same thing and generates the same amount of leads. And I know what he does.

if he is running netflix.... i would bet he is running content locking off of youtube and fb viral.

I would think you could have some success promoting Netflix trials offline via flyers.

08-19-2012 03:09 AM #19 aquasun (Member)

as in tangible flyers?

I got about 500 printed 3-4 years ago (for lovefilm uk) - still lying up in my attic somewhere, too many damn ideas for my own good.

Don't think flyers would do much good for stuff like this.

I wanted to get access to the netflix offer a little over a year ago STRICTLY for fliers... Sooooo easy, free, scalable and you can automate 100%... Fliers definitely still work.

It must be youtube and content locking.
