Need direction advice - any female marketers? :) (8)
Howdy!
This is my first post here, but I've been reading a TON to get a feel for things here, and obviously, I've concluded that I LOVE IT!
SO - to get to the point - I REALLY wanted to start out with dating on POF, but now that I'm getting into the nitty gritty, I'm not enjoying it. Meaning that I'm having a terrible time morally promoting all these dating offers with the images that convert. Big boobs, basically. Here I am running around after my 1.5 & 5 yr old & then trying to browse pics with big chested/provocative ladies & I'm really struggling feeling like that's ok.
I know I can do Christian dating, but I don't want to try & master a traffic source, POF, if I'm only going after one or two niche offers.
I really love the other parts of marketing, creating ads, making landing pages, analyzing data & testing, but the dating & POF issue is killing me.
I've got some cash to invest, but not thousands, more like hundreds. I've got more seo knowledge than on the ppc side & I still don't know what coreg means - lol!
I'd love to here some good recommendations of where I can head that will have a moderate learning curve & open to other angles besides dating.
Is Facebook a good place? What about ppv?

First of all thank you for joining the forum, we are very happy to have you on board and we are more then stoked to hear you love it so far, I would like to further congratulate you on lowering the statistic of the current sausage fest in AM haha, guy:girl ratio
With budgets that you have suggested, couple of hundred it is going to be pretty difficult to get something going properly on other major sources, especially if you are knew to them and it could throw a huge spanner in the works.
Couple of months in POF can turn a couple of hundred in start up capital into potential, high $xxxx and $xx,xxx is not out of the question.
Your kids will be more stoked to constantly have their mom around them instead of working a 9-5 and coming home lethargic, and they are too young to even know whats going on.
It's just a mental battle going on in your head, but you just have to realise that it is ok, there is nothing wrong with it at all, sex sells in the dating industry and if you wanna run dating its just a fact you gotta accept.
But in saying that, thats the male angle. You could make money from a female perspective and simply run guys in uniform (fireman, policeman etc) instead of shirtless if thats against your forte as well.

I totally agree about it being a mental battle & I have no issues with anyone else getting after dating - hey I'm completely impressed with how creative everyone here is & how awesome some (or a lot really) of their campaigns are!
The more time I spend researching & exploring this site/offers/traffic sources the less issues I'm having with the dating angle of sex selling - don't know why but it just seems to
be a fact of marketing life & not so much a problem.
My issues are probably more to do with the fact that "Benji" & "My Little Pony" have been mainstays in my life for so long that I forgot what the real
adult world is like - lol!
I think I'm going to go back to POF since budget wise it's more what I can afford & I can really explore all types of marketing angles.

Thanks for taking what I said into consideration, I mean we are only looking out for everyones best well being here from a more experienced angle. POF really is a great place to start dabbling around, its quite simple to get a return and this will put you in a positive mind state
Once you have a few thousand dollars in capital, I'll help you move into another form of traffic.
But there is one thing, let me PM you
You do not have to take the dating route on POF, one of my better campaigns was non-dating

Have you considered promoting dating offer for females? Completely different world - No boobs and cleavage. As a woman you probably have a better chance to find an attracting male images + write appealing ads.

Grikis - Yes - I totally thought about that market, but from reading on the forum it really sounded like women, especially 30+ are good to
hit so your leads stay quality for the advertiser, not so much to make $ from. But, I'm sure there's a way to make $ from that crowd - I think that's where I'll
start - along with a non-dating offer.
