Adcenter & Bridge Pages (8)

Adcenter & Bridge Pages

On Adwords you can have a decent site built (corporate pages, reviews, articles, etc.) and still get banned for being a Bridge Page, just because you're sending visitors to other sites for purchases.

A year or more ago Adcenter was pretty accepting of these kinds of sites - anyone know their stance on review sites and bridge pages now?

I've just read through their advertising policies and according to this they would never allow an affiliate site of any kind, ever... But i'm curious if anyone has any actual experience getting a review site or affiliate site to stick on Bing/Adcenter.

From their guidelines (i highlighted the bits that seem particularly non-affiliate friendly.)

Landing page and site content quality

Generally, we consider content to be valuable if it enables users to find the products, services or information they request easily, or assists users by informing or shortening their buying, or research process. Your landing page should provide clear, direct access to content that is related to your ads and keywords and should not obstruct, delay or confuse users. Landing page and site content should not function primarily to support the display of advertising or attract traffic.

Sites or landing pages may be considered low quality content if they:
Display a high density of advertising above the fold, and/or consist significantly of advertising or links.

Feature content that functions primarily to support ad monetization.

Are built for search engines, featuring excessive off-topic keywords or pages that feature hard-to-read text.

Consistently feature sparse or limited content, particularly where the user would expect to find a range of offers, products or information on a similar site.

Have as the sole purpose to redirect to other businesses, without adding significant value as an intermediary, for example, by providing enhanced pricing, product or merchant information.

Requires the entry of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) unnecessary for the purposes of providing services or completing a purchase.

Please note, sites driving users directly to a sign up or login page must enable the user to link back to the main homepage or supporting content describing services and terms of use.

Delay or obstruct the user’s access to requested content, products or services by adding steps solely designed to monetize the user

Employ marketing tactics that might be considered evasive, overly sensational or potentially confusing.

I dont do adwords personally but I know a guy who is doing very very well on adwords and according to him "Everything that people believe about adwords is complete bullshit, they are affiliate freindly if you are doing things correctly".

I've been following ryan form IMgrin tips.
Having a free membership site, user signs up they see useful (aff)links within the members area.
With this you also are getting your own list to email to.
Not really looking like a bridge page to adwords/adcenter or other networks with quality guidelines.
But this was towards the Job search niche.

I agree with vipinext also.

Adcenter is very easy with bridge pages. Adwords will allow them also provided you have enough unique content for their taste.

If your page is initially rejected, you can call Adwords/Adcenter support and they will help you with any changes required to get your page approved.

With Adwords you may have to go through a several round of them telling you changes to make and then coming back with more changes they didn't mention the previous round, but they will provide you support until you are approved.

Yes I have gone through this process with both Adwords and Adcenter. As polarbacon says, Adwords is a pain and will make it hard for you, but they will allow you to resubmit your page as many times as it takes to get approved.

"they are affiliate freindly if you are doing things correctly".

the key words here... IF you are doing things correctly.

Unfortunately, I've never been able to figure out what "doing things correctly" is with adwords... they never give you a fucking answer.
