FB in conjunction with own ecommerce projects

Hey guys,

I got an ecommerce site which I would like to be advertised on facebook. Now I am curious with tracking projects like this. I am fine tracking 3rd party offers but not my own products. Is there a way to use Google Analytics for tracking and conversion reports? Any help is highly appreciated, thanks all.

Yes, you can setup "goals" or views of a "key page" that will do what you need

Thanks figured out the "goals" part but still not sure how I can track on ad level. Now I simply push traffic from FB to my shop and see conversions but I don't know which ad finally drove that conversion. Any tips on this Daksneezian?

What shopping cart solution do you use?

I use the modified version of XT:Commerce called Veyton 4 if that helps

1. facebook: add a unique parameter to your urls e.g. "...domain.com/index.php?mytrackingid=FB-20-30-img2-title3-body8"
2. analytics: set up a goal e.g. "people who reached my 'thanks, payment successful' page" (copy/paste the path to the file: bla.com/xyz/success.php)
3. analytics: set up a custom report with dimensions: "Source , Referral Path" + "your goal"
4. test
5. keep in mind that google analytics is always 1 day behind...

Thanks but I have found a way using the Google URL Builder and certain additional parameters in the analytics code Once I have tested this to a decent level I will report back
