so google decided to stop website optimizer.... and bundle it within google analytics.
while doing so they stopped multi variant testing...
and this new version IMO sucks the big one.
What are you guys using instead?
Heard of visual website optimizer and optimizely. A friend of mine likes it but man... he's spending $2500 a month on it.... for something that was free.
uuugh.
any suggestions?
I like Clicky. Main reason for me being that I can pass subids with PHP and dynamically insert them into their on-the-fly javascript split testing code, so can automatically name the page variations and look at their CTRs down to the ad-level, i.e. get so granular you can optimise each lander to each advert if you want to. They are also super cheap, but at the moment you can only have one goal per split test, so for instance you can't have 2+ CTA buttons with different associated click events and have them both contribute to the split test goal. It's also nice to be able to see additional peripheral data like user IPs, geolocations, browsers, OS, screen size etc.
@zeno : you always hardcore with php
I have so much love for PHP! And automation. And the combination of the two.
@zeno... i have absolutely no clue what you just said... LOL... but it sounds like a nightmare to setup and keep track of.
i like simple.
nah, don't bother with google web optimizer, even if it's bundled into ga now. they're not real time. and by the time you analyze the data, you're already 1-2 days late... and when you're buying lots of traffic, that's a big deal.
clicky is real time. didn't know you can use it as a split test platform, haha! yes, it's super cheap for what it can do, best analytics software.
i've used vwo, and it's really good if saving time on split testing is your priority. almost everything is point and click. you don't have to go through the trouble of uploading ftp files each time. just do it all in the vwo dashboard.
http://landingpagegenius.com/ is all you need
@zeno... you're obviously a tech person.... i'm far from it... that shit is greek to me bro.
@bunchie how so? i'm testing sales funnels not just a landing page.... that won't work.
so far from talking to ppl... its between visual website optimizer and optimizely.
they're just not super cheap... especially when you're running a lot of paid traffic. think my buddy's doing 20k uniques a day and paying like $2500 a month for it.
UUUUGH.
Yo Dave!
Check out CPVlab ... I'm running a split test now (due to the same reasons you said) and I canceled my Visual Website Optimizer account because it's a lot o money, and I don't like the way it's setup, etc ...
Anyways, I'm pretty sure you can do some rad ass things for funnel testing with CPVlab, I'm running a simple split test now and like the dude above said, it is real time too -- unlike GWO which is a definite plus.
Check it out!
p.s. plus it's a one time fee!!!!!
Yes sorry I was referring to what Caleb said as well....... I just wrote the message fast.
I use LP Genius and CPV Lab in combination to test multiple funnels and it works great.
CPV lab isn't exactly easy for non-techies, though.
Use http://experiment.ly/
This shit rocks. You dont need to be very techy to figure it out. You dont even need to have access to the final conversion page to setup split-tests.
@ johnaff - lookin at it now.... looks cool.
ya.... Caleb i had a programmer install it and had issues with the install on the funnel and shit.
got a simple php thing that i'm installing on the sales funnel... it shows where people are dropping off.... the split testing software will then help to increase #'s on those pages.
Looks like Optimizely is the one.... most ppl i know with offers doing big volume are using it.
cpvlabs sounds awesome but man, like 202 and the rest of the lot, its just not made for non tech people. (i know many of u guys swear by those apps)
almost none of these programs are made for non-techies.
i'm a marketer not a programmer dammit. :-)
landing page genius seems to be the answer to your question dconstrukt
If not the free alternative would be google web optmizer
@dconstrukt : CPVLab is easy to use
<script>
var clicky_custom = {};
clicky_custom.split = {
name: '<? echo $campaign."-".$country."-".$gender."-".$age ?>',
version: '<? echo $lander."-".$creativeid ?>',
goal: CTA
}
</script>
I'm a full cpvlab convert, unreal shit and awesome loading time
how to set it up on your funnel.
how to setup campaigns
how to analyze the results
those are my big things to figure out with cpvlabs.
looks like optimizely is the winner so far as far as testing software from talking to a bunch of ppl.
@dconstrukt : they have cpvlab videos
Google Optimizer is quite amazing.
You can rotate many different elements in the landing page to see the best converter. So if you have a running campaign, this is your next step. It'll show you the winning combination of the best headline, with best images, etc.. gold!
@ stack man... dude... they're discontinuing it aug 1st. the new version is bundled into google analytics... and it sucks... no multi variant testing....
thats why i am looking for anotha solution. Looks like i'm gonna roll with optimizely.... all my buddies who run big offers are using it and rave about it.
Prosper here!
This sucks to see.

I like the simple tracking testing different landers with bevomedia.
no setup on server side. setup campaign fast and easy. Great support!
ya.. the new version sucks.
snarry... saw the convert.com one.... seems like optimizely looks/works a bit slicker... but won't know till i try.
with optimizely, you just have a line of code on your pages and thats it... you setup everything within their site.... so no having to re-add code all the time. that i like a lot.
Cpvlab is nice for funnels and email followup sequences.
I really like vwo, but ive been looking at experiment.ly, seems like it integrates with 202 but i could be wrong.
Another vote for CPVLab - they got pretty good support - helped me setup my initial campaigns and then I just cloned and modify the offer/lander urls, etc.
oh nice. We had the creator help my programmer with the setup, but he dude never finished and disappeared. i'm putting my own simple tracker together just for my email marketing..
@ theguvna - vwo and optimizely seem pretty much the same...
