So we all know about Google Penguin and all the other "updates" the search giant has made to their algorithms to make our lives a bit more difficult. Display, POF, FB are all constantly changing. Mobile is growing, but it is hard to track and suffers from poor quality and low EPCs.
I ask a simple question: what do you think the future is for internet marketing?
here to stay just have to evolve with the changes.
The simple answer i have for the affiliate marketing future is more and more unique advertising opportunity's. It seems like right now has the most nooks, and crannies of unique places to advertise and not compete head on with too many people then ever before. Sure they're are the monsters like POF, Facebook, Jumptap etc.. but theres also tons and tons of smaller sites, social networks, in over 100+ countries (which most have converting offers now) for you to advertise with via media buys, self serve etc..
@richardj
amazing line! "You won't be rewarded for standing still, I can tell you that now."
I think affiliate marketing is definitely here
to stay, but there'll be an evolution... or
more of a constant evolution. I suspect
the PCs of 10 years from now won't be
too much like the ones we're currently
using, and that may well open up a whole
new bunch of opportunities for the fast
movers.
I think at some point mainstream businesses
may catch up with what's happening too...
so when you tell somebody "I'm an affiliate
marketer" you'll be greeted with more than
just an open-mouthed stare.
It's interesting though, one of my favorite
things about working online for a living is
that it really does feel like we're at the
leading edge of something - there's a
wild west kind of vibe, and I think that's
cool.

I also think affiliate marketing is here to stay, but it will evolved totally different from what is now. Probably it will have more rules by the FTC and lot more competition. Right now there is a lot more competition that 2 years ago but There also a lot more traffic sources with almost no competition right now. i think much more traffic sources will be created in the next years.
