Need a server upgrade

Heya guys,
I'm happy to say money is flowing, and traffic is exploding. It's time for a server upgrade.
Using CPVLab on a VPS @ BeyondHosting. I really think it's time to upgrade. Can't even aggregate stats based on CR anymore due to not enough memory available.

Who & What do you recommend. Sending over 10million clicks this month.

Also from your experience what how much can a stronger server contribute to the conversion rate? 1%? 5%? 10%?

Thanks for the help.

Kal

I've just migrated all my stuff away from iWeb to Amazon AWS and the difference is amazing!

Firstly, I'm using nginx instead of Apache. It's so much faster and easier to set up.
Secondly, I now do all my DNS from my domain registrar Enom, eg: dns points directly to Amazon public IP, no additional DNS lookups needed.
Third, it's easy as pie to scale on AWS, adding new instances and a load balancer only takes a few minutes on AWS, I love it.

On another note..
I think the guys on this forum like BeyondHosting, they run a lot of traffic through them, the owner is a member here, if you do a search you're bound to find a post where he chimes in.

Thanks,
Sean K.

@seank - Hey. Any links to posts you followed to set it all up etc. I presume you are not using CPanel etc. Any tips would be much appreciated by others here I'm sure...

I've been using linode.com lately and been happy with them, but they are completely un-managed so make sure you can use the command line to setup stuff or find a buddy who can.

Hey Sean,
Thanks for the info. AWS does look awesome. I signed up. My only problem is that I'm totally ignorant when it comes to system and setting all that stuff up. I mean I have no idea even how to approach it.
Think posting an Odesk job looking for a pro to set my stuff for me is a good idea?

Cheers,
Kal

Let me know if you need nay help with AWS!

Sean, would you be willing to do a tutorial on setting up Amazon AWS, etc for PPV? I've done it but know there were some things I could have done better. I'm sure a decent tutorial would get a lot of thanks from the community here!

@kalel

Whatever you choose , pick nginx / litespeed instead of apache , that alone will make a huge change.

On top of this , for PPV traffic ( any traffic that is in bursts for that matter ) , use always a CDN.

And last , make sure you empty the database on prosper / cpvlab pretty often to keep redirects fast.

AWS only lost one data center in N. Virginia due to a storm that knocked power out to a number of different areas.

Not all major sites using amazon are down, only sites where the primary is in Virginia, and they are only down until the companies fall back plan takes effect. The only people who are down are people who only have 1 server in N Virginia with no fall back. People keep ripping on AWS (which can have its own problems) but this isn't an issue with just AWS. Any datacenter without power has problems.
