Running Gambling Offers on TrafficForce / Adult Traffic - GUIDE
This is an EWA Network EPIC Guide that I'm sharing with publishers. I'm sure most of you are already members, but for the people that are not they can enjoy this newer guide! (if you're interested in joining, drop me an email: ryan@eaglewebassets.com)
Traffic Sources / Placements: we’ve been running almost exclusively on adult, believe it or not this traffic has proven to be the best quality for the advertiser and it has been converting great for us so it’s a win / win situation. Also you can’t beat the ROI we’ve been seeing (200%+ in certain geos on volume). This is great news for all our current adult affiliates looking to scale to a fresher vertical as you already know how the sources / placements work so all you have to do is roll out some new creatives.
Our current highest performing traffic source is TrafficForce utilizing both banners and pops (RON and managed placements for maximum volume). If you’re wondering why we’re outing our favorite source, it’s because this niche is near impossible to saturate given how many different angles you can hit it with. Also, some of our top offers such as PlayMillion (INTL) accept traffic from a huge number of geos so there’s enough to go around. Plus, for every guide we send out, it’s a fact that only those affiliates driven to succeed will actually implement our advice and take action. One of the nice, unique features about TrafficForce is that they actually own 100% of the inventory featured on their platform so you don’t end up paying extra for the traffic because you’re essentially buying it direct from the site owner (self serve direct buys without the hassle of individual I/O’s for every site).
RON v. Managed Placements: This is an extremely important variable to test as we found different testing results based on the method / geo region. For European / Asian / South American banner traffic, we initially conducted our testing with their RON traffic as the pricing was more testing friendly. Then post test, we were able to narrow down the targets and setup some managed placements after sifting through the data and were able to boost our ROI an additional 50%. For our UK / Australian buys, we went with the managed placements and went right after some of the highest volume placements because we were more familiar with the sources given our experience in running adult here before. The top tier placements can get a bit competitive but that’s because the quality is top notch, both on our conversion rate side, and the advertiser’s back end for quality.
With the managed placements, you can choose the exact site and ad zone where your ad will be placed as well as Geo and Time Targeting options as you will most likely want to implement day parting after you gather your initial data. (I prefer to run 24/7 at first as sometimes I’m surprised at what time of day is getting the highest ROI / conversion rates – it’s not always the weekends / evenings).
Managed Placements:
Desktop Traffic (Tube Sites)
Player Page Ads (Above the fold) -- 25-35 cents CPM
Index Page Ads (Above the fold) -- 30-40 cents CPM
In Video Ads (Average 8% ctr) -- $1 CPM
Footer Ads (Below the fold) -- 3-5 cents CPM
I recommend the top 3 above the fold options, the CTR / volume is just too low on the footer ads for the numbers we like to hit. If you’re going for In Video Ads, just be 100% sure you have a landing page because although it has a killer 8% average CTR, some of the clicks can be accidental given the nature of the placement so make sure you have the appropriate sales copy in place on your LP to grab their attention and convert them.
Pop Under Traffic
URL Links (They pop your links) $2.50+ depending on country (EU traffic is VERY competitive on pop unders and can command over $12 CPM)
Personal favorite of mine is the pop under traffic as you can hit massive volume here, provided you’ve built out a solid enough LP to monetize it (make sure your server is capable of handling volume). You might be skeptical that this can work at that pricing, but like I mentioned before, there’s a reason it’s so expensive. This traffic is great quality and if you have any experience in PPV, transfer those skills over into creating an LP that really grabs the user. It is critical to get their attention and keep them reading, we’ve had most of our success with mid to long form sales copy here but the above the fold segment needs to be flashy enough to get them to start reading (i.e., “Earn up to XXX / day by following this proven technique”). Don’t waste your time direct linking the offer via pop under traffic, it’s not going to convert profitably. Put in the few hours of extra effort and build out an LP, your ROI will thank you.
RON:
Desktop Traffic (Tube Sites)
Player Page Ads (Above the fold) -- 5-30 cents CPM depending on country
Index Page Ads (Above the fold) -- 5-40 cents CPM depending on country
In Video Ads -- 40 cents to $1.50 CPM depending on country / competition
Footer Ads (Below the fold) -- 0.5-5 cents CPM depending on country
Pop Under Traffic
URL Links (they pop your links) 50 cents - $12 CPM depending on country
Basically same concept applies to the RON as it does to the managed placements except that certain regions hit higher ROIs on the RON traffic than the managed placements as we mentioned above so be sure to split test here.
Strategy
We tested pretty much every variable we could come up with from direct linking on banners v. popunders, then splitting in LPs, long form v. short form copy, and CPL v. CPS, and the top 10 geos by volume. While we’re still technically in the testing process (I’m never satisfied with my ROI / volume), we have reached some preliminary results that sending traffic via pop under to LP with mid-length copy promoting CPLs has worked best for us so far, but we’re still running banner placements as well (custom creatives outperforming advertiser stock creatives per usual).
The beauty of this vertical is that there are a ton of angles to take on your LP to appeal to different interests so this significantly extends the life of these campaigns / offers. The basic idea is to build out an LP around tips / tricks for how to win in the various gambling games that the offer provides. The LP styles that worked best for us actually ended up being very similar to the traditional style LPs that we have used for rebills in the past (think blog / review style). Our top 3 performers were Blackjack, Scratchcards, and Roulette but there are other games available as well so be sure to get creative with this as we’re just laying out some broad guidelines to give you an idea of the huge potential for profit and scalability here.
Blog Style: Compelling story depicting how an everyday average person went from barely getting by to bringing in $XXX / day or winning $XXX / hour by following steps X, Y, and Z. Play up the benefits of how it works online, i.e., you aren’t timed, you aren’t being watched by the casino security, all the normal pressures that make you mess up in a casino are removed so you can really take advantage of this. To add additional credibility, consider recording a demo video of what it looks like inside the offer after they’ve downloaded it with a voice over from you giving them step by step instructions. Once you get them to start watching your video, it’s almost a guaranteed conversion. When using this format be sure to follow our endorsement and testimonial guidelines.
Remember to emphasize all the benefits and how easy it will be for them to win in the online casino compared to a physical casino, but do it in a way so that they think the idea was actually their own. This is one of my favorite methods of persuasion / converting people. (i.e., “You’ve probably thought of doing XXX or you’ve probably figured out by now that X, Y, Z is the secret to making money with the online gambling but you’d be amazed how many people can’t grasp this concept”). It’s all about getting in their head and becoming their friend, then tapping into their ego a little bit to make them loosen up their guard. Once they think it’s their idea, they’re sure to convert. We’ve seen extremely high conversion rates with this style of long form copy.
Review Style: It’s exactly what it sounds like – similar to what we’ve described in previous newsletters, you basically put together a list of your top 3 recommendations for online casinos. This can work for CPS’s or CPL’s but we recommend starting out with the CPL’s as you get a lot more data regarding conversions without nearly as much money spent on testing. Give a brief summary of each offer, pros / cons and then editor’s choice. Include bonuses such as how many free credits they will receive upon sign up, be sure to really play this up as people love free stuff. Then once they’ve signed up and used their free credits, they’re going to want more and this is why these offers convert so great both on the front and back end. With review style landing pages, it's important that you review our creative compliance guidelines.
... and that concludes our epic guide on Promoting Gambling Offers on TrafficForce / Adult Traffic Sources. If you enjoyed it, join & run some offers. If you didn't enjoy it - well, I don't know why you read so far down. I love y'all!

The way we have been doing it is kinda the same way we promote business opportunity offers, with ways to get a lot of $$$ for example.

I've a question for you: how do you track placements? I didn't find the token we can use on URL. Do you know how to do it?

No problem, we've been spending a lot of time getting new deals into EWA and developing direct relationships with merchants. We're trying to convince revshare merchants to try CPL / CPS / Trial models and it's been quite the battle, but we've made a lot of progress so far.

Oh damn... Thanks Ryan Eagle, that's some serious information. I've actually used TrafficForce and have gotten higher ROI than exo or TJ, so i'm very happy with it. Not a bad guide at all to start out with TF!
