Day1 stats:
offer: rotate cupid mobile & meetmoi mobile (splited to 2 networks)
target male 18-23 24-29 30-35 36-41; login count: <50 & >50
total 8 campaigns.
total Impressions:151988
total clicks:1151
average CTR:0.87%
average CPC:$0.07
spent:$83.04
made:$0.8 (1 conversion)

its 300x250 IAB ads... just uploaded some 110s ads.

I've run it. It worked. I think I posted a case study on STM too

Great CTR. Decent volume.

Conversions sucked very hard though. Most of its wifi. A lack of good offers is the biggest problem since you can't run most of the good mobile dating offers

You don't have to necessarily run mobile offers either. Any offer that has a mobile optimized landing page/site will work.

Or non mobile optimized sites work well also

Day2-now(24hrs)

total 8 campaigns.
total Impressions: 430286
total clicks: 703
average CTR: 0.18%
average CPC: $0.25
spent: $183.18
made: $103.85
ROI: -43%

110s way better than IAB banners. will splite test different LPs. if my cpc lower within $0.1x, i should can get green ROI
so will try bids lower and target higher ctr(0.2+)

jroes, i guess you cracked the pof now? i saw you have hard time on pof that cant get profitables.

yeah my suggestion would be to lower your bids first, even by .10 at those numbers above would cut your negative roi in half (-20%)... and probably won't effect your quality of traffic terribly on mobile....shit I got camps on POF's web traffic in that lowered bid range that are pretty profitable ;-)

06-08-2012 11:52 PM #9 jroes57 (Member)

I don't do to much on PoF Ive had a few successes there just never really pursued it as I ventured into other stuff

You need to do much better with your creatives to make it work. Conversions on mobile are much lower - you make up the difference with cheaper traffic.

Your first attempt was much better - just need to find offers that work.

This is something I ran about 6 months ago...

Day3 to now:

spent: $178.52
made: $239.75
ROI: 34%

finally got green roi now

what i have done is copy campaigns to other counties. and lowered my bids, splited test different login count(0-50, 50-100). killed the ads ctr < 0.10-0.12.

planing(scaling):
copy test more different login count and even remove it to get more volumes
copy same campaigns as many copies with different bids (maynzie method. thank you dude)

any other advices(except bids higher) to get more volumes please?
thanks for reading

Congrats!

Scale without increasing CPM:
- use all banner sizes
- all countries
- open frequency cap to a higher #
- open up targeting to a larger audience

I sent mobile traffic to my 300x250s by accident, got ctr of 0.9

all reports since started this follow along:

total spent: $803.65
total earned: $658
P/L: $-145.65

there are main 2 problems that effecting roi.
1. the 300x250 ads spent $99.26 and just made $0.8
2. the big clicks discrepancy coz i using p202, not DL to networks.
pof clicks: 5799
p202 clicks: 5009(losing 14%)
networks clicks: 4038(losing 30%. OMG)

sample ads of 300x250:

Scale without increasing CPM:
- use all banner sizes
afraid run IAB banners. see my report above.
- all countries
I do. AU/CA/UK/US
- open frequency cap to a higher #
changed cap from 3 to 4.
- open up targeting to a larger audience
i think my targeting already broad. even removed login count.

The higher you make your frequency cap, the more creatives you need to have running in your campaign. At like 3, I would run at least 6. At 4, I would run at least, hmm 8-9 or something like that.

How many times have you tested an ad and have it bomb? Same thing happens w/ IAB's! Maybe put a cap on it for testing purposes :P
Try the 728x90's too.. have you browsed POF.com from a mobile? Might be worth it to see what you're dealing with.
