$40k+ FB Revenue Feb to June

Hey all!

This is my second success story on here. And I'm writing this on the back of receiving my first ban from FB. As much as I've tried to stay SUPER clean, I've been expecting it to happen.

I thought I'd give myself a lift today and look back at how much I made from FB this year alone, and it comes to $42k in the last 4 months. That is a motivating figure.

All this was generated in the evenings, whilst working my day job and trying to keep my girlfriend happy at the same time! It has been a masterful juggling act.

It's hard to say how much profit I had as I have no access to my spend history.

However, I do know I was working on a 30% - 50% ROI. I settled for 30% as an absolute minimum. I will work it out when I get more time...

I have to give a huge amount of thanks again to this forum. I read through as much useful info on Facebook as I could - all over the web - and as always, the most useful and profitable tips came from this forum alone.

There is also a tonne of great info on how to setup new accounts on here so I will be reading that and utilising that to move onwards and upwards.

Seriously guys, this forum is an absolute goldmine. Thank you so much for making it happen!

P.S - In the spirit on this forum, I'm keen to share back too, so PM me if you want help with your campaigns. And I will try my best whilst protecting my own interests.

Congrats!

I think you would get the best ROI on your time by sharing tips and what worked for you in the open forum rather than in PM...that's probably how you learned yourself in the first place

Thats really excellent to see Richard. I initially started with Facebook and failed, now that Im starting to do better with POF, Im looking to re enter Facebook. Anything you could share about your success would be great! Seems as if on Facebook ROI on average is lower than with POF, but Im sure the volume of traffic makes up for it.

Do you spend much money testing? Did you loose money initially starting out? I started with Facebook, and I spent days making my last campaign attempt like almost 200 ads. After I lost $300 I called it quits.

If I had the cash, seems like now Is the perfect time to Buy stock in Facebook because its so low. I can almost guarantee it will go back up over time. Facebook is here to stay.

let me be the party pooper here!

42k, 4 months, lets just say 10k a month, and you said it was 30% ROI. So let's say you got 3,500 a month before taxes. Not to rain on a parade by any means but I get $2,500 a week programming full time. People who are better than me get $100 an hour+

How much starting budget do you guys suggest for getting into Facebook?

08-19-2012 10:57 AM #15 aquasun (Member)

Depends on what your doing, obviously the more you put, the more you gain.

Yeah i mean thats one way to look at it, but not a fair or accurate assessment either.

Another way i look at it is i did this all part time in a few hours in the evening each night. i must have worked on average 8 hours at most each week. On the weekends i still had time to go out with the gf and enjoy myself whilst my job + commission from that job provided my bread and butter.

3500 each month divided by 32 hours per month is 109 per hour and thats just a bonus for me as im still learning. id have been happy with break even during the testing phase as this was my first foray into facebook.

Its worth remembering too that 30% margin was my minimum, most time i did more than that. and that feb was low in profit and i actually scaled to $1k+ per day later on.

But i wasnt trying to show here how big my dick is as i know 40k is small fry. it was a chance to show fellow stackers that it is possible to make big gains even part time whilst living my life.

Also the margin shouldnt matter to begin with. profit is profit and once youve found it on fb you can scale it, trust me!

Well, I am doing pretty OK with free traffic sources. Want to go the PPC/PPV way now. Is $500 OK for the initial testing, something like $15 per day?

08-19-2012 01:52 PM #18 aquasun (Member)

more like 500 a day for a good test, 15 a day won't tell you much. What kind of free traffic were you getting? Why not stick with that if its working?

08-19-2012 02:08 PM #19 prateekdwivedi (Member)

I mostly do Social Traffic.
And I want to expand my domain because you never know what might happen. So I want to keep at least two working streams of income.
500 a day would be a bit over the budget for sure, at least for a month.
What can i do with a 500-ish budget, at least in term of learning, if not profit generation? Something which would help me in a ling run. I am ready to blow up the money, of course.
