Whats Your Motivation? (50)

Whats Your Motivation?

Recently I have been getting a lot of PM's about people getting frustrated, burning out and getting ready to throw in the towel, but after a quick pick me up and reassessing why they are in this game they are back into heavy pursuit of their dreams

So I just thought I'd ask, Why do you get out of bed everyday and do what you do?

What are your goals and aspirations; no matter how big or small

The more open the better, we are a family. STM <3

To learn, to master and to be able to use new skills and competencies. Making monies. Receive affirmation. Be happy. Stuff like that I guess.

Being my own boss

06-03-2012 07:57 AM #4 Connaissance (Member)

Being free could sum it up. In more words:

Making enough profits to invest (commercial real estate, dividend-paying stock) and get a reasonable level of true passive income (XX,XXX per month at least)

Then spend the rest of my life doing fun creative stuff such as:
-documentary film making
-photography
-playing music
-travelling
-banging hot chicks
-learning and trying new things

And maynzie...you didn't answer your own question bro What motivates you?

I want to go wherever I want, whenever I want, for however long I want, from my future home in Canada, where I work as a float plane pilot for fun not profit, which will get me ever so closer to my end goal:

Maldivan Air Taxi

If I ever feel the burn out, I just browse the website for a bit and motivation rushes back.

Sure if I become super rich from my endeavors I'll buy my own Gulfstream, but it wouldn't be as cool as working there

- To remove the feeling of not having enough money to purchase the stuff or experience something that could make us happy & grow, not only myself but my family too!
- To show the world (and my peers) what one can achieve once they are committed 100% into doing that, and most importantly it cost effort, money, time & sacrifaction to get something.

I am motivated by the freedom that AM can provide for me and my family.

-I want financial freedom. I may not ever become 'filthy rich' but I don't want to have to live paycheck to paycheck anymore. I'd like to have some extra money in the bank for a rainy day. I'd like to know that my children will be able to go to college without me taking out a 2nd mortgage on our home. I don't want to have to stress over money anymore.

-I want personal freedom. I want to be able to be my own boss. I would love to be able to leave my 'office space' job and never have to sit in a cubicle again. I want to be able to set my own schedule. I would like to be able to travel and be able to work from anywhere in the world. With AM you can work on new campaigns whether you are in an office, on a beach or in a cafe. I want to be able to spend more time living and less time worrying about how I will be able to do it.

-Aaron

I want to beat society and the mental boarders they lay on you. Break out from that average pattern that everyone is supposed to follow. Go to school > Get a degree > And then go work for another man.

Financial freedom so I can travel and do what I want + take care of my parents like they really deserve.

That being said, I cant imagine failing at this internet shit, that would be such a hard blow to my mental state lol.

Haha, well number 1 I just love waking up everyday to a new day and the possibilities of subtle changes you can make which lead to an overall bigger picture motivate me enough But my number 1 motivation is my family, had a fair share of hard knocks and shit just like many others out there, but my main motivation would be my Dad single handly raised my sister and I from the age of 6 and 2 got me to where i am so couldn't ask for much more

My motivation is to buy his mortgage out completely by end of this year, he has no idea !

He won dad of the year 5 years ago in our state http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/mor...-1111114314962

And I just love helping people, like the PM's coming in from people and shits motivating enough can never wipe the smile from my face haha

Top motivators: my 4 kids (spending more time with, providing more experiences); living with less boundaries - if I could worry "less" about financial stressors, I feel more creativity and entrepreneurial efforts would flow thru my traffic-free axons... (mo' money, (no) mo' problems)

Bonus motivators: no more clients, working as many hours as necessary with closer term payoff, burst focused efforts, extended vacation, spend time AWAY from computers (currently tethered)...

My motivation, is so that I can enjoy life to the fullest. Travel, work when and where I want, and to be self employed. I just want to be able to not work a 9-5 and have money to enjoy myself and do what I want.

I dont know of many other jobs where that is possible . So I have no other option lol. I want to master Affiliate Marketing, so I finally have time to do and experience other things, and have more time for introspection and improving my own mindset.

I mean even making high xxx a day on pof would be fine for me. With these guys complaining and getting burnt out. I have the potential to be negative and think those same thoughts. Its easier to be negative, than to visualize what you want, be positive and to enjoy the process to get there. I've been putting in 10 hours a day every day for months, this is not easy, there is competition in anything you do. The people who succeed are the ones that take the most action and have the best mindset.

Amen, the thought of a 'normal life' in the rat race kills me

Saw this rad as quote the other day,

"Most men die at 25, but don't get buried till 70"

Had a really powerful effect on me

It's really touching Mayznie!

I can feel ya because I'm from the similar background as yours, except that it is my mum who has been single handly raised me up. It wasn't easy to raise up a kid while at the same time, needing to take care of him/her and working 9-5.

My family has always been my first motivation because of the mindset that "repaying" my mum for whatever that she has done to me. If not because of her, I wouldn't be where I am today so I've been asking myself, not "How much time Do I still have?"... Instead, I ask myself...

"How much more time does her have?"

Of course, I'm talking about the physical condition and her health condition. I don't want to only succeed when she is old, and has difficulties to travel around. Working 9-5 will definitely get me no where to bring her and enjoy life, and that's why I love Affiliate Marketing and it is the best choice that I've ever made by taking this as my career.

Another motivation of mine is (at current stage), is to beat Uncle Green's income and be the next super affiliate who can does $xx,xxx/day! I feel bad for not beating my income generated from the previous month, and thanks to this forum, it has given me enough motivation and trained me to a terminator mindset - "Never Die, Never Give Up".

Just love this STM community and everyone here <3

Right now I am sitting at a resort in the Caribbean. I bust my ass at my 9-5 all year long to bring my family here for a week. These are the types of things that really motivate me though. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my kids playing in the waves, they will remember these trips as some of the best times of their lives much like I do from my childhood.

I want to be able to do this without slowly killing myself in a cubicle with meetings and project deadlines. I'm so burnt out from the daily grind at the office all year. I found AM to be a way for me to give me and my family a better life and I will not stop working towards my goals. It may mean that I have to put in extra hours after I get home from the office or that I have to work on the weekends but, it is temporary. The 18 hour days now will be worth it in the end. It may be another 2 months or it could be 2 years before I hit my first big $$$ campaign but if you really want it you have to put your head down and keep going till you get there.

I love what some of you have said about wanting to help out your parents and families. The drive to take care of your loved ones can push you far beyond what you are normally capable of.

This is an interesting book (I'm not going to lie - as with anything related to this topic it's pretty depressing).

Summary if you find your WHY you can get through any HOW.

Most important, so I can always have enough resources to be able to support my child's special condition and let her live as close to normal --- I'm already so thankful I was able to leave my office job just a few months after she was born so I can spend precious time with her. Committing to AM has paid off so far.

To be able to plant some flags!

I'm a constant learner, I always want to be studying, learning, maybe even collect academic degrees! just for fun!

Fund assets for passive income streams. Build a commercial building and residential apartments and rent them out.

Already got the Mazda! And the house is okay. Considering maybe a Subaru or Honda family van thing.

Of course, travel to STM and Affiliate Summit and maybe make a family vacation out of it too.

My kid and the desire to provide her a bright future and definitely role models like kokofai help me stay motivated.

Freedom. Having to report under a boss from 9-5 for +40 years is just a step above slavery.

This. The potential income is excellent, but I'm after the freedom said income provides.

The more I work, the more I realize 2 things:
I hate being told what to do.
I hate writing resumes and cover letters.

2.5mm house/land in ojai, 10mm in the bank, 2 goats, 5 dogs, 5 kids, a horse, a positive influence on others, 30 people with jobs, freedom to travel, a social network of smart people, and most importantly a happy wife

Personally, since I work for an ad network *my* motivation is to help our affiliates & our partners make lots of money because when they successfully optimize their ad campaigns with us, EVERYBODY wins Plus it gives me and all my colleagues the satisfaction in knowing that our platform has helped someone make some serious cash. Gratitude & personal recommendations from our clients gives me fuel to keep doing what I'm doing

I like the dream fuck-you money stash, toys and to play as much as the next person, but I have a growing suspicion as I get older that at the end of the day, it's all just about the conversations you can have, relationships/friendships temporary or whatever, good food and some cheap thrills/experiences. I like learning and indulging in new shit like SCUBA diving, paramotoring etc. Try to live and do cool shit everyday. The rest doesn't matter much. It's all bullshit and you die anyway.

Thanks for this and the brilliant Paul Graham link on determination. In itself very motivating.
