This whole tracking thing is making me want to rip my hair out. I can't find any basic information or tutorials on the net and its very frustrating.
This is how I understand it:
I am with ewa and their sub Id syntax is &SID= at the end. I can put anything I want after this and ewa will track the sub ID that I write.
Do I then paste this tracking link into prosper, extract the tracking link from there and put it in my add?
Does this then mean, that for each creative I develop, I need to have a separate prosper link?
or is the &t202kw= bit on the end open to a keyword being on the end of each tracking link and is that keyword anything I like? Will prosper then be able to differentiate between creatives without generating a new link all the time?
I'm assuming that the global pixel works to make this process a bit easier, but the &cid=0" area is obviously linking to a specific campaign, which is telling my uneducated head that this needs to be changed for every campaign as well.
But one should only need to enter one global pixel right? Up the top of EWA it has 'global pixel not enabled" and then all of my campaigns underneath, which leads me to believe that one of them can track everything.
And then it asks me to enter an 'amount to override the affiliate campaign default' and I have no idea what this means either.
I would really appreciate some guidance here. Even if it's just links to tutorials for the complete noob. I have looked high and low and can't find anything of value.
If you want Prosper to work the way it is supposed to you need to let prosper choose the subid.
Put your EWA link into prosper like this: http://www.trackamps.com/click.track...D=1234567&SID=[[subid]]
This basically saves the link in prosper in such a way that when someone uses the tracking link
(which you'll get after making the campaigns) it will automatically replace [[subid]] with the next numeric
subid so that when a conversion comes in it can tie it back to the information like keyword, referrer, etc. Whatever
you pass in the &t202kw= will be saved in 202, so that's where you want to put information that helps you identify
the demo or creative. Like if it's a Cougar Dating ad for males 20-22 in the UK, and you have 5 different ads, use something
like UKMxCOUx2022x1, UKMxCOUx2022x2, UKMxCOUx2022x3 etc. It doesn't really matter what you use as long as you can
tell what it means later lol. My t202 kw's look like gibberish but I can read em
You pretty much have it correct Get link from EWA > Paste It Into p202 > Get tracking link > Use for tracking link for ad
For the global 202 pixel, the &cid= is referring to the CLICK ID not the Campaign ID
You can set it as a global pixel on the network
but just because it's global doesn't mean you HAVE to use it that way, so you can still use it on single offers for networks that do not
have global pixel support. That is important because you may have several 202 campaigns pointing to the same offer so you can track
demographics separately.
depending what you are using for traffic source you will need to find out their syntax also,
I use bevo and its way easier to setup campaigns. here a dl setup with postback tracking. but you can use Manual SubID Upload or Auto-Sync with Network Or the one i use is fingerprint.
I would find an offer from a network,
grab the link. like so and put it in the tracker.

bevo will auto populate the subid.
then make sure in step 4 to ad your traffic source syntax so if your using 7search kw would be ###keyword###
then you just grab the bevo tracking code from step 5

and from your question

Ah awesome, thanks for that guys. Makes it a lot more clearer.
EWA does support the global pixel and I want to run it, I submitted my link with amount={amount}, it hopefully inserts the conversion amount for each offer, since they are all different.
why would you want to track amount with your link ? only subid is enough, don't too engross with global pixel, there are other great cpa networks to try, just split test them.
