Volumes for International ppv on LI ? (16)
Hello guys,
I just had a quick question, i'm trying to run a penny auction offer on the french market, through LI, I scraped about 300 urls around the "win an iphone" theme but i see i'm #1 on all of them wich makes me thing there will be no traffic (and there's not much for now..).
Have any of you run this type of campaigns with international traffic on LI , should I keep try to narrow the targets or go more broad ?
I'd really like to pick your brains on that! thanx

first and the easy way is find some competition urls, then you can check the states, pick the urls which converts or the clicks is many enough, use alexa and quantcast to analyze these urls' demo, then dig and dig and dig and dig and....
Yep , there is enough intl volume.
I was spending $3k a day on Italy alone on LI a year ago.
"win an iphone" is a pretty particular theme for term scraping. You need to do much more broad targeting in order to get any real volume. Think of the demo you're targeting more than the exact phrase matching -- this will help you find terms that may be non-obvious, but could be higher volume and actually make you a few bucks.
Think to yourself: how many people go online in France every day and say, "hey, I want to win an iphone, let me type that into google and find out how I can"? It's not gonna be very many. It wouldn't be all that many in the US, either, or anywhere else.
tl;dr - you're targeting too specifically to get volume

@bbrock that's good to know, i'd very much like to be able to run some xxxx$/day french campaigns on PPV, especially if they're profitable ! 
I've been trying to wrap my head around ppv for a couple months now and i figure since i speak better french than english, and french market is supposedly easier so why not start from there, we'll see !

I would figure out the gender and age demo on penny offer with quancast or some other tool and target age and gender similar sites... you need high volume domains and kw's. I don't think you will kill with "win a free" domains alone.

I can't vouch for a $3k day spend like mr boss besmir ! But I can vouch $1000 spend a day in most of the INTL countries

The INTL traffic is why I love Leadimpact the most
You can talk to LI and find out where they have the most traffic like they told them they are serving up to 30k pops a day in germany
According to my last failed campaigns LI has NO users in the following countries:
- Finland
- Denmark
- Norway
- Sweden (maybe a dozen)
Thanks Dario - i hadnt tested those countries. UK & places like Italy (as per bes' post) are decent. Germany from memory as well.

Aus
NZ
Presume there is a ton for Canada as well. But for ca do you target .com or is there good traffic from .ca?

Spain: is pretty good (but not as much as France IMO)
Australia: not a lot of traffic (less than Spain)
NZ: haven't tried yet
Anyone knows if LI has some NL (Dutch) traffic?
