Hi
I did a bit of PPV a while back and am trying out a niche education rebill offer as it seems it should e able to be easily targetted with PPV.
I have never run a rebill offer before and was wondering what sort of spend do I need to really test it and the urls out. The offer has a $4.95 trail sign up and pays $30 a lead and it seems pretty legit as rebills go.
I used to follow the general rule for lower paying lead gens of testing with 2 -3x the offer payout and probabaly 1 x the payout per url. Since its a $30 payout I'm guessing this is too much. I was thinking of spending $100 at first to test and see if i can get a conversion and am split testing direct verse a LP. So if there are any tips on running these sorts of offers that would be great.
Cheers
Mike
I would spend between $80-$120 on this to test properly.
I used to do a lot of education offers on PPV and what worked best is targeting job sites.
On your lander give some numbers of what they can be making by getting X or Y degree and offer the "Free" education offer.
Hope this helps.
just be careful with the "how much you will make" with a degree stuff.....US laws have changed and most advertisers can get fined if they promise a job or a wage or a salary.....
you might find yourself booted off the offer pretty quick.....
Not saying all adverts are that way....just saying that just make sure before you run copy that you may/maynot get paid for
your tips really helpful bbrock32 and polarbacon, thx.
Thanks for the tips, but actually the offer is quite different as it is a course you buy to teach you child to read and it also focuses on teaching about the bible, religion and the parents faith based values and beliefs.
The irony is that I am an atheist but I just thought it would be easy to target so thought I'd give it a go. The question I have is how much should I spend per target url to really test each one and not break the bank. I presume the $80 - $120 amount mentioned above was for the campaign and not per target?
Optimize by landing page CTR
Do the baseline math taking Cost Per View, Offer Payout & Offer conversion rate and figure out the CTR you need on your landing page to get within range.
Then start your test and when a target doesn't get the CTR you need you can kill it after spending a few dollars, instead of $90.
Also, if you have a target url that is performing well you can use it's CTR as a baseline and kill targets that don't get that CTR.
For example, let's say you have a good performing target url and it's getting a 1.5% CTR and you have a new target url that is getting .01 CTR you can pretty much bet that it's not going to work for you.
It's not 100% foolproof (no method is) but it is accurate for me almost every time and allows you to optimize without having to spend $10,000.
