Press Release Distribution

Does anyone have experience with press release distribution? What distributors do you recommend - there are some free ones, but are they worth the time?

PRNewswire the grand daddy of all press releases.

prnewswire.com

PRNewswire, PRLog. That'll get the job done.

Do you find them better than PRWeb

What exactly happens when you use those services? They put your article on their site...and then...? You hope they'll get picked up by some bigger media? Does it actually happen?

Yes, republished on other news sites that pick it up etc. From my experience using PRweb.com, the most valuable link was from the PRweb website itself. The other sites were just RSSfeed site etc.. I'm not sure how Press releases get on now after the Panda update.

PRWeb still seems to be helping a few of my sites. We still see some of the syndicated sites show up on long tail terms.

If you go with them and plan to do more a lot of releases, realize the cost isn't fixed.

I talked their sales guy down ~25% before I signed on for the year.

I've tried PRWeb.com. There's a feature where you have to pay for the distribution. They get picked up from some of the best news sites including Yahoo News.
