Facebook Is Pausing My Ad (13)

Facebook Is Pausing My Ad

Hey guys,

I ran into a problem today and I really need some help.

I was running this campaign in France and it was all going good for almost a month. Today I was changing links for a different domain and I accidentally made the domain running in France redirect to the wrong offer.

It looks like someone reported it and now Facebook is automatically pausing my ad. I got about 25 emails saying "Facebook has paused your ad(s) ect..."

Also when I click on my own ad to preview it, it takes me here: http://i.imgur.com/KEI3X.png

I have already changed the link to the right one for that domain but it still takes me to this warning page and Facebook is still pausing my ad. My ad is running un-targeted so I fear that Facebook will ban the account if I contact them.

Can anybody help me out?

Had this happen to me a few times. I've never had any luck getting the ads running again for longer than 10 minutes..

what have you tried to do to fix it?

I had the same problem with some campaigns, though wasn't changing links at all - no idea why it was doing it unless the affiliate network was screwing with their link, though I checked everything at the time and it was all working fine. Then all the ads take you to that warning page on the preview link, even the ones still running. Concerned me since it could mean running ads were going straight to a warning page. It kept happening and I ended up pausing the campaigns and emailing FB to ask them whether it was due to user reporting or something automated. They said the ads looked fine and they couldn't replicate the issue...

I don't think it's necessarily user reporting, I think FB may have a system that monitors where the link hops to. For me my tracking didn't indicate FB checking links, but user reporting was highly unlikely. Never resolved it, haven't started the campaigns back up yet but haven't had the issue in any other campaigns.

I've experienced this a few times. The MyWot rating of most affiliate network's tracking links is pure red (go plug the root domain of your link into http://mywot.com and check). As soon as they see it's a network tracking link you see the message posted above. I've had luck just "cloaking" my links in prosper (not real cloaking). Whatever it does to blank the referrer from your network also seems to hide the redirects in between your prosper link and the offer page. The last time I did this I submitted 6 campaigns. 5 got approved no problem. The 1 I forgot to "cloak" got disapproved. Not sure how long this will work for but it's worth a shot.

I'm pretty sure FB only looks at the final landing page and not at the redirects. Why should they matter anyway? If they were a problem pretty much every offer on EWA using the old tracking domain would have never gone through on FB, ever, not even campaigns to something legitimate and harmless. There is no way of hiding the redirects either, if you look at the http headers they're as plain as day, no cloaking/redirection system of any kind is going to prevent someone from seeing them if they care to look.

I'm just telling you guys what I experienced. I have no clue why it worked, but it did. And the campaigns died off after about 3 weeks so I never found out if it woulda lasted. I'm sure the campaigns woulda got paused/disapproved eventually.

Unfortunately, this is why it matters:

Neverblue tracking link
Maxbounty tracking link
Peerfly tracking link

I'll just resubmit and cloak this time

Cool. Please come back and let us know if it works or not. I'm very curious now to see if it was a fluke for me.

I submitted a test ad.. I didn't use the same link though... It worked...

I wasn't cloaking last time but this time I am using a real cloaker and my campaign will hopefully do a lot better

The campaign in my example has never been rated in MyWot. Based on the sequence of events, it seems like they noticed the tracking link in the redirect sequence after my campaign had been live for a couple weeks. Switching on prosper cloaking and generating new tracking links worked vs new tracking links without cloaking.

Like I said, the campaign sorta died off for me after a few weeks. I wish I had more data but I've since switched to using a cloaker to advertise several related offers that do have bad MyWot ratings so fb never actually sees my prosper, network link, or true destination url anymore.

Edit: I'd like to stress that I think ticking the cloak option in prosper was only a temporary fix. I'm fairly certain those ads would have gotten paused/disapproved at some point as well.
