GM pulling $10mm ad campaign from facebook

Looks like branding advertisers are starting to come to the conclusion that their ads on facebook are producing negative ROI.

Perhaps facebook is going to have to get a lot friendlier to affiliate marketers!

Hope they will be more affiliate friendly because by going public, there are pressure from investors who will want their company to grow every year.

I don't think they'll ever be affiliate friendly again. They'll just try to adapt to the needs of big brands.

I only hope they'll expand FB ads to the mobile platform.

Why do you think this?

I think they, like Google has, will feel the pressure from not living up to their revenue projections and begin letting banned advertisers back on in a year or so ...

What makes ya think different?

business wise that wouldn't be a smart move on the long term. letting the ad board be flooded by shitty campaigns would be a very bad experience for users, and that's the last thing FB wants. The big bucks are with the big brands. If they have to chose between trying to satisfy the brands' needs and letting affiliates run what they want, we all know what they'll chose.
