So ive been running campaigns here and there, and from my experience, I've had better success when I run 2 lp's at the same time than if i just let the better one run alone. Yeah it might do better for a day or two but usually the ROI drops fast, saturation, or something, but when I run 2 lps ive found that i make longer consistent money even if the epc / roi isnt as good with the second lander than the first.
Any thoughts on this, have you seen the same?
What traffic source are we talking?
I think it's important to try to isolate the true cause of this difference. If it's ppv and u have low freq cap, then saturation could be the issue. Only other factor I can think of is if someone is ripping your LP.
In general the advantage to 2 LP's always at a time is that you can constantly split test while keeping things fresh at the same time. It's more work than some people like to do, but it depends on your goals.
That being said.. I'm lazy most of the time and just go with a single LP that I know works well, so that i can focus on launching new camps.
Mainly with POF, PPV, Adult, etc.. not talking about facebook or google as i havent had that many long term campaigns.
It's always best to split test two, get that data - in my opinion.
Agreed, always try to split test, there's no harm and it could easily increase ROI
@vidivo
I know what your saying, running 2 landing pages at the same time even if 1 converts better just to help the campaign run longer due to banner/landing page blindness etc.
I've never really done that method because I'll usually see 1 of the 2 landers convert better and then instinct just tells me to drop the worse converting lander.
Its definitely a good idea though as long as your not losing money on 1 of the landing pages
Like everyone else saying good things about it, I've always done multiple testing.
Never really went with a single lp test.
In ppc, split test two text ad copy with two lp's and rotated offers.
ppv, split test lp's. sometimes had up to 5 lp's well not at the same time but once i had a bad lp i would replace it with another to see if i could beat the better converting lp.
Never tried it, however I do typically split test a fuck load so there is always new features that are rotating on the lander. But typically if I'm running big volume there won't be major difference the tests, therefore wont make any dent into banner/angle blindness.
Interesting strategy you got.
I do this all the time with PPV. Always pretty happy with I find 2 quite different landers that perform about the same. Often improves consistency and longevity of the campaign.
Well with banners, it's always a good idea to have 2 or 3 slightly weaker ads complimenting the best performer to prevent burnout. But I've never really thought about how that would translate to landing pages.
Interesting though, definitely worth a test.
With adult traffic from my experience, pick the best concept layout of a lander and then run 10 versions of it (same lander just with different images) and you can make muchos dineros.
But don't tell anyone about this, ok?
Change the name and pictures of the mom who now looks 20 years younger from time to time, it helps.
. I'm glad nobody reads these in the first place....
