Hey guys,
I would like to get your opinion on the following:
Given I run a campaign with let's say 15 images, 2 titles and 1 description. Now I'm experiencing after 2000 impressions a CTR for the same image with title1 of 0.25% while with title2 it's 0.08%.
Would you cut the second combination of title2 & image out ? I am kind of mixed feeling here, because the second title performs good for images that are performing poor for the first title.
To sum up: would you exclude the title + image combinations that have a poor CTR no matter if with the second title the image has a strong CTR ? I know users are unpredictable sometimes and I'm starting to think that there might be some images that work for the same targetted group of users way better with one title while the other title performs poor.
As always, any feedback much appreciated.
I'm new to this, so grain of salt and stuff, but I would cut it. Basically the only difference is the title, and it is performing poorly. From what I have seen, the general rule of thumb on POF is that you cut ads with a CTR < 0.1% and more than 1K impressions. Also, I believe the purpose of split testing is to fail fast and weed out losers. To me, that means worrying more about what is currently working and less about poor performing ads that may turn around in the future.
Agree, it's just somehow itchy in my opinion cause the same image performs strong with the other title used for it, but on the other, the 'weak' title for this image works with other images great. Guess it's just a combo of both so I think I'll sort it out.
