PPV Adventures - the quest for freedom begins..

Hey stackers..

So I finally figured out how to launch PPV campaigns (thanks to everyone who helped me get off the ground ), so as I can now start testing campaigns I thought I would commit to a 30 day follow along to discipline myself into creating new campaigns every day and will update this accordingly. Hope it is of interest to y'all!

I don't have any favored verticals as of yet so guess it's the old see-what-sticks method to begin, but the plan is to get to $100 a day asap..

So here we go!

Sorted:

Hosting - Beyond Hosting VPS
Tracker - 202
Traffic source - LeadImpact
Networks: NeverBlue, ClickBooth
Budget -$1000 or so.
Software - PS, DreamWeaver, FileZilla, iOS

Unsorted:

Still got loads of issues to work on (insert cheap jokes here ), such as how to split test multiple landers in 202, and how to preview your landers to make sure they appear right but hoping these will get resolved as I work through and get more experienced.. also have no idea how to do scripts and stuff like that, hope to learn how to do all that in due course, so just making my whole lander click-through to my link for now..

So here was my first campaign:

Stimulus jobs email submit US-only, payout $1.90

Lander:

Added the url here as embedding not working
http://www.supreme-offers.com/camps/jobs/1.html

Targeting 74 URLs scraped from AffExpert

Results attached - mods how do I embed an image from my drive rather than a url?

Spent so far: $5
Revenue: $0
P/L: $0

No real surprises with results as this was my first campaign, happy to just get one off the ground for now as the learning curve was pretty steep compared with, for example facebook. Have paused this now until Monday as I understand job offers work best early in the week, will run another $5 then, have also disabled the first url.

My questions for now - how do I test multiple landers in 202? Or even just split test the lander with direct linking. It looks easy in CPVlab but I can't seem to find the equivalent in 202? Also NeverBlue is saying I registered 3 clicks.. have no idea what that means? Finally how can I check to see if my landers are loading correctly? Do I need to align them or anything like that? If you check the link mine is sitting in the top-left - will it load properly? Atm I have no idea

Any advice appreciated and will be returned x 10!! Also promise I will try to make my posts look better as soon as I learn how to post pics

Cheers!

I think you have too much text on the landing page. i would say test less text and just mention the benefits that you think may get the visitors attention.

BTW what is your CTR on this Landing Page, It could be the offer you know !

Weird, 202 saying no click-thrus but NB telling me I got 3.. so if 3 then 3/210 = 1.4%

aha that's pretty low for such a low payout offer, specially they maybe scrubbing. As i told you try to work on a more simple landing page with the same design.

Headline - Bullet Points - Call to Action

Then try little animation like an animated boarder, Headlines and Button.

This should give you better CTR.

Thanks for the advice, will come back to this one I think. For now I'm just ripping the advertiser's LP with minor mods - scripts and that I am yet to try, need to work on my skillz..

Good luck on your follow along! I've started dabbling in PPV recently so I will be following your progress.

For the lander:

1) add social proof: facebook like, google +1, logos of 'authority' sites
2) make sure your images is in the middle, not float left (having way better performance with centered stuff than left / right floats from previous projects for me)
3) your call-to-action looks like just being a part of your lander. It must be THE part. Point it out what you want the user to do: to click!
4) I'd change 'continue' to 'click here' or 'get started' to get a clearer call-to-action

Looking good homey!

Keep the progression happening, PPV can be slow in the beginning especially with smaller campaigns, so what I did was start 2-3 small easy to manage campaigns, so I had a greater chance of hitting a winner, then ditching 1 and starting another which would take days to get to profits if not longer.

These are relatively small campaigns as well so they won't put you into headache mode

Good luck Bromo!

Thanks for the tips guys, love this forum!

All gone a bit quiet atm as I had my last 2 camps denied - bit frustrating but that's life, gonna hopefully get them all approved today.

@fyk - thanks for the alignment tip was worried about that - have no idea if my landers are appearing properly - is there any way to see them (like a preview)?

@Maynzie - that was what I was thinking, if I create 1 new campaign each day then ditch the non-performers I should have 3 or so on the go at any one time. In a few weeks I hope to be flying at this!

Next campaign coming up!

OK so this was a total dud but it it what it is. Not sure what has happened here (apart from the lack of traffic).

Offer is SuperFreeBingo, UK $1.80 email submit.

Lander is here: http://www.supreme-offers.com/camps/bingo/lp1.html

Targeting 25 bingo-related URLs and YT vids.

Results attached.

Even though the URLs are getting traffic my ads didn't pop. The only one that did was the keyword Bingo but I paused that as it was sucking up clicks.

Next....

Change your lander a 100%. I'm into gambling with 'organic' traffic for a long time. Given how your lander looks, it's understandable that it doesn't convert. Point of benefits, bonus offer, brand names that are well known. Browse through Williamhill offers on their site to get some idea how they promote Bingo campaigns, from my experience, they convert strong on bingo traffic.

So I ran another email submit over the weekend, direct linking this time to mix it up a bit (and possibly a bit of laziness :P).

Offer was a Pinterest gift card, payout $1.40, US only.

Results were shocking! After 741 clicks only 1 conversion, so I am not sure how to proceed on this, one thing the guide says is to ditch campaigns if you run 2-3x the payout in traffic and if no conversions then ditch it and move on.

However I got one conversion so is it worth testing some landers?

Am I ditching campaigns too early?

I'm pretty new to this but I'm gonna take a shot...I think your server is wide open....

Somebody grabbed your link (possibly from this forum) and hijacked it with this....

If I'm wrong, somebody correct me...

Hey Senator you sure it's not just a country redirect - the offer is for the UK? You are right though, my server is wide open, can't believe anyone would hijack my noob campaigns though?

@Senator & @stumc
It's just a country redirect; used hidemyass.com with a UK proxy and it brought me to the superfreebingo offer

btw, stumc, just put a blank index.html in your camps directory to prevent open browsing of it
not 100% secure but will stop random surfers

Yo man! One of the fastest ways I've seen people succeed in PPV from back in the day is people launching one new campaign everyday for 30 days, like the most obscure different styled campaigns.

When one shows a little traction, you keep progressing it, but over those 30 days it would be pretty achievable to get traction on 5-7 campaigns which could all be taking to $50-$100/day each.

The reason I know it works is because thats how I got into PPV in the beginning haha, the '30 day challenges'

05-17-2012 09:58 AM #21 stumc (Member)

@jmgraff - thanks man have done it as you said - how does it work to prevent browsing?

@Maynzie - thanks for the encouragement dude! Hope I can crack this! Did you concentrate on just the brand domain and the variations? Or did you mix it up with other targets? Did you stick with the same strategy the whole 30 days?

Been a bit quiet due to having guests over the weekend and all week - enough already I am locking myself in the office and not coming out until my campaigns are done. Updates coming tomorrow - gonna try a gaming camp as I hear they work well over weekends...
