How Do You Collect Emails On PPV?

I have been working on a new campaign that will collect emails on a landing page, then I will begin sending them emails/offers. I would also like this to be automated.

I don't want to use an auto-responder because all of them are double opt-in and I wasn't very impressed with aweber when I was messing with it.

I'm pretty good at learning new things, so if you could just point me in the right direction that would help me out tremendously.

Thanks for your help everyone.

You can turn off the double opt-in requirement in Aweber. Just make sure you test double vs single opt-in... the double opt-in list maybe more "valuable".

I think you go to list settings, there's 3 choices i think, click confirmed optin on the right. Near the bottom theres a green ON button click it and it should turn red and say OFF. I think lol I'm no expert here but I was taught you should send them value and focus on strengthening your relationship between you and your list via 'voice' and 'value' and then send them offers. Apparently the amount of money in the list is in the strength of your relationship. This is what i was taught by someone who makes a fortune with email lists. Its something i'm working on right now too, but am a noob in this field lol Good luck!

Is Aweber what everyone is using then? What are the other options?

I used Icontact before, getresponce, Aweber. I like Aweber the best because idk it just was easier for me to nagivate. Icontact for me was the worst in figuring out the interface, there API is superior so i've heard but for interface I'd go with Aweber. Just got ahold of a new email tool to email & build a list through facebook, pretty sweet, can email based on the demographics.

I'm a noob at this too, but one thing i noticed

If you don't do double opt-in, gmail will mark you as spam
and a lot of people use gmail.

It seems like the aweber confirmation email always gets through no problem
but as soon as you start sending unsolicited emials out of nowhere
it picks it up. Especially if they have links in them

iContact is the best for complaint rates, almost double the others.

Single opt-in records are fine.

I usually collect data, then make two lists. The double opt-in the take the rest and move to another account on a single opt-in. This way the single opt-in account won't blow up the double opt-in stuff.

I'm looking for a solution to build a list then sent the person to a affiliate offer. Which service would be ideal?

Thanks Jason.. was debating on whether to go with Aweber or iContact. Seems like iContact works best for single opt-ins, but a shitty interface i guess.

Infusionsoft is the shit, great automation and non double opt in if you dont want it.

I created the campaign with Icontact but couldn't get anything to work, got frustrated and decided to go out for some exercise(this is a great strategy by the way). When I got back I realized I left the campaign running and it was profitable. The only email they have gotten so far basically said "thanks for joining, here's your affiliate link".

I'm pretty excited, I've got a ton of work to do on this campaign and I already have ideas for the next one.

Infusionsoft looks great, I'll consider that for when I have larger lists.

In my opinion interface is meaningless. Your ability to make money is directly predicated on you hitting the inbox and keeping the account alive. Interface could look like dog shit but if it delivers and has a high complaint ratio it's your best option. IContact also has great reps that will go to bat for you with the higher ups if your ratios get to high. A weber just clips you.

Roll your own with Interspire Email Marketer, then add in Amazon SES.

It's been covered in here before, so you can search for the thread.
$495 up front for the software, ... then stupidly low prices for Amazon SES, with (much) better delivery rate than all the Aweber clones.

Of course, if your business model generates a lot of 'spam complaints', then you may want to swap out Amazon SES from something like SendGrid instead.

How do you go about tracking email optins?

I have been using prosper202 for my PPV campaigns, so what I did was use the welcome page, after they enter their email, as the offer page in prosper and added a pixel to the page. However, the pixel doesn't seem to fire so I don't know what keywords the optins are coming from.

Thanks!
