Ehhhh Criminal Justice on Facebook? need some input!

So.. I've been running this one Criminal Justice campaign for 2 days now. (on Facebook)

This is the URL - http://fbi.mycriminaljusticecareers.com

the offer is from A4D.

I did some demo research, and they were mostly african american from age 18-34

so i targetted male of 18-23.

Who like Lil Wayne, and other black singers.

I've submitted 40-50 ads or so, and i ran all of them.

Overall, they had bad CTRs. except like maybe 3 or 4.

But conversion rate is hmm.. bad..

When i did an inital testing with the ad above. (the first ad) (by running only that ad)

I was able to break-even off the bat. but i ran some more today with many more images.

conversion rate SUCKED!!!

conversion rate is 1.7% right now.

when i did my initial testing it was at 10%...

Do you think my marketing angle is bad right now?

Should i make it more relevent for the users?

such as "Are you over 18? we need you" kinda thing.

i wonder if im being too generic right now.. haha..

I do not know If i should ditch this campaign...

Thanks Bros

I don't know... to me, it seems like the landing page they get sent to (and I know that's the advertisers LP) is a little confusing. Your ad says FBI, the LP headline mentions FBI, but then there is a picture of a cop/police officer and the video is about a police officer. Just my take on it...

yeah. that's what i partially think too.

the offer page blows.

Today is memorial day, so conversions might suck a bit. Or conversions might suck just on mondays. Like someone said in a post (I forget who and where) but if you have the budget, test this monday vs last monday or next monday.

I remember running the criminal justice and nurse edu offers on FB, just be careful with quality. I remember doing $200 a day for like 2 weeks straight and for some reason I never lifted my daily budget on FB, always kept it at like 200-400 a day. One day I raised it a lot and after a day and a half I get an email to stop all traffic because of the quality issue.

i would target police series like: the wire, the shield etc...i had some good success doing this in the past

I think it might be the advertiser that's shaving me.

If your P202 domain is verifytracking.com it's showing a 500 Internal Server Error... not sure if it's you... I saw the ad when I was browsing Facebook. It was the same ad image, headline, and copy as above.

The black demogrpahic idea is cool, but i have to say prob more white people like black artists then black people. That's not the best targeting choice. If your forsure interested in targeting black people: maybe targeting something like black history month might be better, but way lower demo.

My suggestion for targeting would be similar to nusolutionz, and figure out something more fitting, such as cop tv shows, and similar keywords.

Like you said the advertiser may be shaving as well after he saw your initial quality. You should go to your network and find out, see what the quality is at. Then go from there.

Also keep in mind this has to be one of the most played out offers on facebook, so a lot of the potential demo has already filled out this offer. I know it's still profiting though, but i'd assume quality as a whole is down a bit.

Anyways your next 3 steps should be:
1. Find out what the advertisers thinks of your quality, say you noticed much lower CR day #2
2. Choose targeting that brings in better quality traffic (higher CR)
3. Find ads that bring in high CTR (lower your cpc)

Try using a landing page, making it very clear what's being offered while still creating high interest. I was told this from a friend, who was told that from a network owner. So i highly recommend a good landing page after completing steps 1 & 2. Also track profiting times/days!

Use a good landing page.

Try ripping the main lander with Bo.lt (props to tijn) and screwing around with it - taking it more with the FBI angle. If you're trying to target African Americans in particular... maybe add an image of a black FBI agent to the lander? Try it with your FB Ad images too.

You could also make it one white agent and one black agent together on the lander etc.

Targeting cop/FBI TV Shows is a really good idea too....

I sent several thousand clicks to that same Criminal Justice offer on Ad4D and my conversion ratio was beyond horrible. In my case is was from a media buy and not facebook.

I think a lot of your issue is with the offer. Let me know if you find a converting one.

If you guys are dedicated hitup http://www.offeralliance.com/

They have a load of EDU offers including crim justice ones, and they're ALL DIRECT!

They're pretty strict though, so be ready for that.

like stackman said, it's probably you're targeting criteria...loads of whities like lil wayne cuz he's the mayne and all---so you're ad is being seen by the peeps ur not looking to target. try targeting BET (BLACK ENTERTAINMENT FOR US) it's a television channel dedicated to african americans

Target interests from other data dumps related to race. OK Cupid has some cool info on this.
