Facebook is a Bitch

Like the title say.

Being an internet marketer from Malaysia, I've always notice the ads that pop around my facebook accounts.

I've been seeing all the cloaked business opportunity ads, before and after pic ads... all LIVE running on facebook targeting my country. It's imba I know.

But what most unacceptable is this ad!!!

Bored? Come Play Together <--- headline

The ad is a gaming ad and it is in Chinese. But damn it, they could just let ads like this go through... See the difference in ad approval treatment in different countries?

Yep, as I've said before, Facebook is more than happy to take your money when it doesn't have a 'cleaner' alternative waiting in the wings with its wallet out.

Advertising abroad is the best way to stay under the radar if you're going to push borderline offers.

The number of cloaked weight loss ads I've seen in Europe is ridiculous. They're plastered all over the ad spying platforms. Makes you wonder how much longer Facebook can be blind enough to miss them.

They've been hitting EU pretty hard too. It's non-English speaking countries where you can go unnoticed right now

Insane headline.
It must be all about staying under the radar and hit them hard when time permits.

I think that's because of less competition, like on EU market. Where there are fewer ads, it's normal to not be so strict, they want to grow, not to scare away advertisers.

Another idea is the "media"

A few years ago many affiliates were running diet rebills on Facebook using pics of fat stomachs

Who remembers these muffin top ads?

A lot of users were offended and the news ran some stories on it. Basically these kind of ads generate really bad PR.

In a small country like Malaysia or South Africa...who cares? The users don't complain as much as the US ones do, and there's not going to be as much backlash. Facebook rather take in the $ from these countries.

So for an affiliate that wants to be a lil gray, international's much, much easier.

You are spot on dr_ngo!

With looming IPO in May - they will want to avoid whatever bad press they can, but probably only in US/UK/etc.

why is facebook such a bitch? It takes probably 1 min to get my 'charity' ads approved but 10000 years for my dating ads to get reviewed and rejected.

I actually saw an ad for a site selling sex toys here in the Philippines. Looks like everything goes in the asian Facebook ads right now
