Facebook asking for ID (31)

Facebook asking for ID

The last few accounts I have created have been disabled after two days and when I try to login I am asked to upload a government issued ID in order to get access again. The names I use are made up and so I have abandoned the accounts at this point.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I am wondering if it is due to the offers I am running (legit dating, no cloaking, no ad disapprovals). If not, maybe it is because I am using the same machines to create these accounts although different IP addesses.

Yeah it means they are on to you, your new accounts are immediately being flagged as suspicious. If they want your ID you're screwed, not something you should fake.

There is a thread somewhere about making new accounts. Basically you can't have your accounts linked in any way. In ANY way.

This probably means:
New credit cards with different name and different account number
Completely different IP used, not one used by others like with VPN services, IP geolocated close to credit card address.
Access to account/creation process all done inside a separate virtual machine so there are no possible linkages via cookies, browser cache, etc.
Under no circumstances is account ever accessed by anything other than it's private VM.
All ads going to a completely different tracking domain on a completely different IP to your previous ones, all whois protected etc.
Also don't use the same images you used before, i.e. any retro'd ones.
If you wanted to be even more badass, get a second affiliate ID from your networks so you even look like a different affiliate if someone went through your redirect headers.

I haven't made any accounts but I gather the above is the length you need to go to, it's what I'd do. Imagine being in their shoes and think, how could I find out if this person has ever had an account with us before? Most people will seriously underestimate the lengths you need to go to in order to sweep away your footprint.

even with all the above done. All new FB advertising accounts must be verified with ID

Advertising accounts that is, not personal ones...

Providing counterfeit ID is a crime so I wouldn't do that under any circumstances. In some US states it's even a felony. Not a good way to go.

Has it been confirmed that Facebook is requiring an ID now?

04-23-2012 07:50 AM #10 mrlv (Member)

Why fakes ID's when you can use ur family or friends ID's and just remote connect into their computer when you sign up or even better buy a netbook you can find them for $150 or less and leave it at their house and that can be a new FB machine that you can connect and manage it from home.

Flash cookies can be deactivated, but last time I checked FB wasn't using any.

All my accounts are business accounts, with no facebook profile and I use paypal as payment method. Never had problems

I have already faked the ID and using that account without any problem.
Problem is that you have to submit same ID as your name on added CC.

sorry ramgunjal

i was referring to this:

@tijn, I am also using business accounts but never used PP as payment source and it worked fine.
Anyways, I am guessing the name on your payment supplement must match with your ID

This is the sort of thing that would worry me if I were cloaking, or trying to 'game' Facebook.

If they decide to clamp down and start ID-checking advertisers, you'd have to be a cowboy affiliate to continue to try and mess with them.

I would use a relative or friend's account long before I try to Photoshop a government ID. That's just bad news.

Hello Buddy,

So what are you working as ?

Are other people creating new accounts without being asked for ID? An earlier poster said all new accounts are subjected to ID check. Anyone create accounts in the last couple of weeks?

04-24-2012 06:06 AM #19 presfox (Member)

my account is asked for ID too

04-24-2012 01:37 PM #20 pokersensei (Member)

Thanks presfox. Anyone create accounts recently without being asked for ID?

If this is the new norm, looks like the days of fake names are over.

The last account I created they asked me for an ID (about a month ago). I only have one account right now and would like to make 2-3 more but have been holding off. I need to get a couple more IPs in my city to match my credit cards. FB is such a PITA but it's so easy to make money there. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what happens. If I go ahead and create some new accounts I'll let you know how it goes.

I created a new account just a couple of days ago without a problem. Wasn't asked for ID. Just wondering at what stage of registering a new account you were asked for it?
Also, someone mentioned before that FB can trace a computer by "machine ID". How come? Is there such a thing as "machine ID" that is visible online?

I got asked for ID after a couple of days of running ads.

Are you trying to use a card with a brand new cardholder's name? Or do you have an account with a fake card holder's name? That might be the source of the problem.

04-27-2012 10:44 AM #26 pokersensei (Member)

Yes I used a card with a brand new name. Not sure what you mean about a fake name being the problem.

05-02-2012 03:25 PM #27 profitable ()

On new accounts do they want you send a scan of the id AND the card to be used for billing? Or just id?

05-03-2012 06:22 PM #28 alpha matt (Member)

Guys help me

I was never asked this ID proof. But, I use a FB Profile with my Alias name and my real name for Billing in FB Ads. Will I be safe if I give them the ID that matches the name on my Ads account and not my profile??

Thanks.

I just had to do the same thing... I was worried my account was about to close after several people said that after they submitted the ID it got deleted lol.

05-10-2012 01:08 PM #30 doppelganger (Member)

So, I decided to try and get another account going and logged in today to find that they wanted an ID.
Here's what I did when setting up the account:
-New Win7 VM
-New IP using HMA (Same state as my billing address but different city)
-Fresh CC on a brand new account I just opened
-It's an older account that I've had sitting around for a while

The profile is a fake name but the billing info is my real name. I have other accounts that are set up this way. Has anyone gotten past this check successfully? If anyone has I'd really like to know what you did.

It seems like you are more likely to be asked for ID if the name on the fb profile does not match the name on the credit card or advertising account.
