i'd say balancing hype and compliance, the longer the ads can run without running afoul of compliance and their bots, the more money it makes.
examples on compliance:
Instead of "Lose Weight Fast" becomes "Foods that Cause Obesity..."
One gives expectation, which gets accounts banned, other creates curiosity that keeps campaigns compliant, yet attracts the same obese person.
While promising benefits is what is emphasized in sales copywriting, these days... too much "benefits" without justifying it gets accounts banned.
especially with main stream traffic sources..
Focus on CTR first. You need to get around 0.15 - 0.2% CTR to start finding profitability.
If you're still not profitable then, look at your offer, try different offers if you're direct linking.
If you're using a landing page, look at your click through rate. Then look at changing your offer.
More than likely, you should be profitable by this point. If not, you're angle isn't working, try another.
Rinse and repeat.
