Magical Lottery Thread And Why I've Been Quiet (46)
Hey Stackers, Just a quick fill in to why I have been so quiet these past few days, 2 days ago I was contacted by the Austin hospital CEO and was outlined by the inquest into the mistake the nurse made on my treatment. I was pretty shocked and upset when I heard that if I was not stabbed in the stomach with adrenalin at 5am and put on anaesthetics by 7-8am with the same blood pressure and temperature that was recorded, I would have gone into cardiac arrest, and yeah maynzie may have made an early departure from this magical time we call life 
. Still feeling a bit sick and shaken by the mess I woke up in the next day, as I was connected to a drip but with the pressure in my veins there was a fair bit of blood on the pure white sheets that had come through the incision and drip hole. I told him that I will not be suing in any form whatsoever because I really dislike the idea of obtaining easy money, I like to earn everything I have by putting the work in.
Thank god my surgery went perfectly though according to x-rays and I will be on my feet in 6 weeks 
!
That night left me pretty mentally and physically drained, don't feel completely here still so I am taking a few more days off, but please comment here if you want a number in the draw,

Mate, sounds like you are really going through the mill right now. I applaud your decision not to pursue any legal action. Being from the UK, the "sue first, ask questions later" culture hasn't quite pervaded our shores yet (although I'm sure it's only a matter of time).
You really have no need to apologise. Just concentrate on getting yourself better.

Not good man... But glad to hear surgery still considered "went exceptionally well". 6 weeks will fly by and you will be back in the water, on board, etc. before the end of summer!

Glad to hear things are starting to get better. That's bad about the nurse - it's great you're taking the high route and not suing but I hope he/she is disciplined (although my GF is a nurse and I know even the best can make mistakes unfortunately).

Been there, had that, back when I had Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Arrogant nurses making major fuck-ups and refusing to admit when called on it. The number of deaths each year resulting from that is staggering.

Did the lucky draw on my iphone random number generator, and I took the first 6 numbers to pop up twice, so I was sitting there for quite a while but results are in and the people who earned a spot have been contacted.
Sorry to those who missed a place, but I will be posting more tips and case studies as frequently as possible and its back to STM business as usual!
