How do I know if my server isn't fast enough?

Hi all,

I am doing mostly ppv (and ppc) campaigns. At this point my traffic volume is low and I am on a cheap shared hosting environment. I have no idea if this is costing me leads, if the redirects are too slow, ......

As with many, money is tight and I would rather spend the money on testing campaigns. I am ready to upgrade when I have to!

But how do I know / test if my current server is a liability?

Thanks!

if you use the STM coupon for beyond host you can get a vps for 25 bucks bro, just do it! It is a liability, vps is a must for ppv. You can test your load times with loadimpact.com

You can use HOTPROSPER to get 50% off the first month and get p202 installed for you. If you get a domain from namecheap then you can get SSL installed as well and be able to track conversions.

Thanks everyone.

OK I will upgrade. But my question still stands.

How do I know when my server is not fast enough?
What metrics do I need to look at to see if I am losing pops to speed issues, or losing commissions or anything else......

Thanks Again.

View the landing page while you have alot of traffic going to it. Does the page load slow? Use http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ to see how long its taking the page to load. Use http://blitz.io to test the server/page. Look at the server stats and see if how much of your memory and processor is being used.

All of the above methods will help give you a feel, but I don't think anyone can give you hard answer. It really depends on what type of traffic you are running, and your offer. I like to see my landing pages load around 1s or lower. But that can very depending on the traffic source.
