New FB Ad Uploader Not Allowing Domains?????

Serious problem here guys.... I bought a bunch of domains on namecheap.com and I had control over where my link redirects by using the URL Redirect feature.

One of my FB accounts got updated to the new Ads Uploader and when I input my domain, it automatically changes it to where the user will end up; meaning no tracking link, only the website URL of the offer you are promoting.

Instead of my ad showing: Destination URL: http://www.my-domain.com it instantly changes it to: Destination URL: http://www.offer-url.com <---- without any of the tracking codes or anything.

What do I doooo ??????

I'm right there with you - For what it's worth, I had mixed results today while submitting ads...

What I mean...
Sometimes it would accept www.mydomain.com (tracking domain) and sometimes it would completely bypass www.mydomain.com and only allow www.offer-url.com to be displayed.
The same www.mydomain.com was used in both examples - I would draw the conclusion that they weren't blocking www.mydomain.com?

The ole' bait and switch could remedy this over the short term but there has got to be a better way - or a trigger for them to block certain domains? I have seen a few Direct Links get completely blocked...

I'm looking forward to hearing some other peoples thoughts!

Definitely looking forward to hearing a solution to this....

I'll pay whatever I have to

Here is my jury rigged way around this...

Keep you tracking/domain forward blank (0 content - no forwarding - nada) and submit your ads...It will look pretty nasty when you submit it, but that is when you immediately go to your tracking link and place the proper forwarding codes/destinations.

Example A

That URL sure looks terrible!

But Facebook placed the proper 'forwarded URL' into the ad, as pictured below.

Step 1 - Create Blank Tracking Link
Step 2 - Write and Submit ads
Step 3 - Put the URL into your tracking link
Step 4 - ...Profit?

My biggest fear is that FB would easily be able to track this little trick and auto ban you for such things...Not sure!
Soooo - I just hope we can all put our heads together on this one!

So, it's auto-updating the advert destination link to be the offer URL? Have you submitted ads to see whether it actually uses your tracking link or replaces it with the offer URL? The displayed domain underneath the headline will always be the end offer URL provided the FB probe gets redirected there. It makes little sense for them to remove tracking functionality so I wonder whether the ad creation process is just being misleading.

I'm going to pull an all-nighter tonight and test this shit out. I'm going to:

1. Submit my ads by using the direct tracking link from my network and see if it tracks/converts
2. Set up my link so that it does not re-direct but make it show my landing page, and then redirect after approval
3. Do what I normally do to see if its just misleading

If all fails i'll just let you guys know whats up and huddle in my corner and cry a bit jk

BTW can someone please teach me how to do php redirects?

PHP Redirect code:
Code:
<?php

   header( 'Location: http://www.yoursite.com' ) ;

?>
Also, why not try submitting an ad and just preview it on the site and click on it and sniff the redirects? This way you can see if it's actually going to your tracking link or directly to the end domain.

I am doing that.. Here are the problems that I am facing right now:

I am using 2 FB accounts with the old Ad Uploader. I am telling my domain to redirect to a different offer but when I press "preview link" it still takes me to the old offer. I have cleared my cache, cleared history and everything. Still takes me to the old link. I'm not sure why.

As for the new ad uploader I have submitted my ads with one of my domains. It is the primary domain on my hosting account and I guess the FB Probe saw that it takes it to my LP that I set up a long time ago and left my link alone.

Guys I think i'm on to something here lol

I have a bunch of ideas to try out and will for sure keep you guys informed

Why you bought so many domains ? whats the reason behind ? you should use php redirect not the domain redirect or http redirect

04-14-2012 09:18 AM #11 trust93 (Member)

different traffic sources, different FB accounts etc etc

I use a different domain for every different FB account... I have about 6 domains, dunno if thats actually a lot but 2 of them are for other ideas i'm testing out.

The other 4 are for my FB accounts

read my previos post in this thread... you missing something

04-14-2012 09:42 PM #13 trust93 (Member)

Oh yea sorry, I don't know how to do the php redirects.. nobody ever taught me anything. An idea just popped in my head, it worked so I stuck with it.

I copied the php script, saved it on my desktop as filename.php

thats as far as I got

tell us how you redirect your traffic with tracker (p202 or cpvlab or custom one ), how does the traffic flow ? I might code one for you

04-15-2012 12:51 AM #15 trust93 (Member)

Here is exactly what I do:

I buy a domain, transfer the dns to hostgator, and submit my ad using that domain. After approval I swap out different offers until I find a winner.

I have always known about php redirect and the advanced cloaking but I never got around to learning that. I have 3 FB accounts and I have my ads approved on all of them using my domains.

04-15-2012 03:16 AM #16 zeno (Administrator)

So I take it you mainly use landing pages? Because in that situation redirection is not such a huge problem since FB won't check your call to action much and you can easily change the outgoing link in the lander.

But for direct linking you're tying your own noose if you submit affiliate URLs directly or your own URLs that redirect users immediately but lack geo-redirection. Frankly I'm surprised people last as long as they do without knowing all of this and having PHP scripts keeping their campaigns safe from easy retro's and disapprovals.

What hosting are you running on? It would be wise to get these things sorted out immediately before it comes to bite you. Decent hosting > Install Geo_IP functionality > Get a hold of geo-redirection PHP scripts (we can help with that) > Learn how to control where users get redirected to based on country location, pass variables/subids, change script content during approval etc > Get more comfortable with PHP. Trust me, if there's one thing I wish I put more effort into from the very beginning of my marketing endeavors it's handling PHP.

forget cloaking first, stop buying domains. you get the overall concept of lead abitrage confuse.

There you go :

1. Your job is driving paid traffic to cpa offers.
2. Let say you decide, hey I want to promote dating niche in FB, I'm sure you can find dating offers in cpa network
3. The hosting part, ok I can't afford a vps, get shared hosting, hostgator... yuck... try this one MDDHosting.com
4. I'm sure you have some free ssl cert when you register domains, you just need a ssl cert for pixel tracking or postback to work with https, make sure the common name is your tracking domain
5. Install prosper202 then watch some videos (https://www.google.com.my/search?q=p...ient=firefox-a)
6. use the search button in this forum
7. learn from this guy, he got the drive (http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-Day-Challenge)

Seek education first, before bang yourself

Lastly, payback to STM

i've done the redirect in an iframe and didn't have this problems. What bothers me most is that if you change the destination url it will automatically reset all other fields (at least this is how it is on my interface)

What FB ad uploader were you referring to here?

04-18-2012 09:05 PM #22 geofferson (Member)

I am having the "destination url overwriting the aff link" problem too. I figure this is a glitch in their new beta platform. One trick that seemed to work for me using IE instead of Chrome/FF/Safari.

For me, nothing tracked properly ON ANY NEW ADS SUBMITTED when I wasn't able to get my tracking link to "stick" in the destination box. Serious issue for sure.

This one:

I think they fixed it though. I just tried to put in all of my links and domains and they all work fine.

I had the new interface for a few days, but suddenly, FB switched me back to the old one. I guess they are just testing it out

04-22-2012 06:42 PM #25 geofferson (Member)

Same thing happened to me, I seem to be back on the old interface with all browsers. Tracking links are being accepted again too...

I thought you were talking about a FB ad uploader tool. Are you just submitting your ads manually?

04-24-2012 03:49 AM #27 trust93 (Member)

yea i'm doing it manually, I only submit up to 10 ads at a time, work perfectly fine for me
