Aaaaargh POF Tracking confusion

Aaaaargh. Trying to start my first POF campaign and I think I've read too much stuff and confused myself.

I have CPVLab and Mr Greens POF Uploader so what is the best way to track as I want to start out the right way.

Do I even need CPVLab because if POF has a conversion pixel and of course the cost data can we get it all from POF.

IS CPVLab just good for split testing offers and doesn't add anything wrt tracking.

So can anyone help me out and advise how to set it up. I know it will be easy once I know

CHeers
Mike

Nice you got CPV lab, that program has added 1000% to my bottom line in the past couple months. Great for testing LPs quickly, with POF what I do is, Set up a CPV lab Postback URL as a global postback for a cpa network. To pass CPV labs sub id. This way you know which LPs are making you more $$$. Also I have the POF pixel set up as a global pixel for the CPA network, although only 60% of conversions or less are recorded within pof, I haven't looked into this into too much detail why.

The easiest way to setup CPVLAb with POF, is to just append each ad to the end of the keyword=.

So for example my url's will look like (replace all letters in caps):

Code:
http://trackingdomain.com/base.php?blah&keyword=CAMPAIGNNAME-COUNTRY-AGE-GENDER-LOGINCOUNT-ad
then with Mr. G's uploader your check the automatically ad sub ids, start with 1. Also check the top box, forget the name to consecutively count ad1, ad2, ad3, ad4, etc..

so your tracking URL will spit out this under each campaign:

CAMPAIGNNAME-COUNTRY-AGE-GENDER-LOGINCOUNT-ad1
CAMPAIGNNAME-COUNTRY-AGE-GENDER-LOGINCOUNT-ad2
CAMPAIGNNAME-COUNTRY-AGE-GENDER-LOGINCOUNT-ad3

I would still recommend a tracking solution in addition to POF's pixel, because 1) flexibility of testing 2) more in-depth analysis of what is and what isn't working.

Hope that helps!

I dont use the pof tracking pixel. it has never been acuarate for me. i've kept campaigns running thinking they were profitable only to find out later that the pixel was double firing, inflating my conversion numbers.

Heres how I do CPVlab. I personanly only use ={creativeid:} (need it for uploading cost reports) but he wanted to use subids (more meaningful information in the CPVlab campaign data.) I show both ways in this post

Hi

Thanks for the reply, although I don't know if I have it yet :-(

So I was wondering if this is right. In CPVLab I set up the POF url append token as &keyword={creativeid:}- I don't even know if I need this but included it with the hypen so it doesn't confuse the other data.

I created 3 extra tokens in cpvlab as follows. Hopefully so I can pull thru the following into CPVLab ie, Ad version if I am split testing, the age of the visitor and the state they are from

Name: Ad
URL Append &ad=
Parameter: Ad

Name: Age
URL Append &age=
Parameter: Age

Name: State
URL Append &state=
Parameter: State

My cpvlab tracking campaign url is http://domain.com/base.php?c=150&key=8ac817ae7e1133a94ffc6973e05f255 5&keyword={creativeid:}-&ad=&age=&state=

In POF I had two different titles to test, 1 x copy & 25 images

So in the creative area in Mt Greens up-loader I ticked the subid option, starting from 1 (hopefully each ad will be either a "1" or a "2" and I can see it in the report in cpvlab).

Under the click thru url part I also ticked the subid option, starting from 100, I presume to label each ad.

I think something is wrong but not sure what so any further help would be great

Thanks
Mike
