Server Overload

How do you high volume affiliates know when your current server needs to be upgraded? Is there a tool out there?

You ask your provider to checkout your box and see what your running short on.

I run the free plan of newrelic on some of my servers

https://newrelic.com/

It will give you stats on memory, discspace, cpu load, etc.

You can also look at your daily click loss - Clicks in Tracker vs Clicks in Traffic network

same here, newrelic on ruby apps (not using it on landers atm), it will also email you if server is down...

I've tinkered with their software, the gui is neat but its a poor approach at server monitoring.

All of the data they collect can be retrieved via snmp and does not add a massive overhead like java.

Good idea, poor implementation, we looked at developing a product like this a few years ago.. I can see the idea has finally caught on.

Internal SNMP monitor we use:

Hey Tyler,

Does 'Internal SMTP Monitor' mean something you guys have coded, or its something off the shelf?
Curious as to what this is, ... as there's about a bajillion smtp options.

We've written a few internal things, the screenshot above is called http://www.observium.org/wiki/Main_Page We've contributed to this project a little bit. It's by far the best *graphing* solution for everything we do.

It does have some software monitoring options in it now, the main focus has been network stats.

These guys for relic are high.

Monthly expense $7,950.00 for all the servers I have in my demo.
