Sick TED Talk - How To Inspire Action
Yooo what up STM,
I just watched this pretty sick TED talk, that applies to your ad copy and verbage. In a nutshell it's basically a "Benefits over Features", but with a little twist, start with the "Why".
What I took away from this video was the order in which most ad copy flows is backwards, starting with the "Whats" :
- 'Join the most popular site for x'
- 'Site X has a 5:3 girl to guy ratio!'
- 'Finally a site where women respond!'
- 'Welcome to x the #1 online community for x'
and leave the "Whys" till the end, or leave them out all together... why do you believe they should sign up for X site?
- "We believe everyone should have a fair shot at finding love... that's why we created X, the #1 site for x." - can you say bbw?
- "We believe online dating should be easy, no games or gimmicks, that's why we started x. Quality women looking for big black dudes to scare their parents."
You get the point... start with the WHY and everything else will become more believable.

Thanks guys! I just downloaded that TED app on my phone so I've been watching a shit ton of videos lately haha, some really inspirational stuff... did you know that every time we fill out a re-Captcha we are helping to decode text for digital books? ;-)
