Beyond Hosting - which is the best package ?

STM friends,

I am just starting out and need your help to choose best package that beyond hosting is providing.

I bought CPV lab and want to host my landing pages on beyond hosting...which of the packages you think are best ? I think all of them have discounts for STM members - I am not concerned about money (hardly $10 diff between each) - I want my LP to be fat and no delays.. so here are the package details :

http://beyondhosting.net/Virtual-Pri...x-VPS-Hosting/

VPS512 - $39.99
VPS768 - $49.99
VPS1024 - $59.99
VPS2048 - $129.99 ( I think I don't need this as a starter)

Which one are you guys mostly using and what is the best

-Rob

depends on your needs, for starting id say the 512 package is fine, unless you plan to run xxx.xxx hits to your LP / day right off the bat

Been on the vps768 package since nov.... Its been okay. Had some response time issues, but BY finally fixed the issue after convincing them it was an issue on their side.

Make sure you test the response time/performance yourself, use pingdom.com and/or http://www.webpagetest.org/

What is a good response time? I just pulled a .291 secs load time using my cpvlab tracking link hosted on beyond hosting

I have the 39.99 package (you should be fine with this to start bro)

anywhere between 200 and 400 ms for a tracking link is fine.

if its > 1s get someone to look into it.

ive not had any issues with beyond and with my own software get <100ms regularly.

If it is >1 then something is wrong? I tested a basic html page at my domain name and it is between 350ms - 400ms. But when I test my CPV Lab tracking link, it is between 4s - 5s. Is this because of the loading of the landing page? How do I test the tracking link only?

with pingdom look at which step is causing the delay

Heres an example for one of my old CPVLab tracking links

thank you very, very much for the graphic tijn!

Here are the numbers for my main cpv lab redirect:

SSL - 1.77s
Connect - 2.00s
Send - 0 ms
Wait - 174 ms
Receive - 1 ms

Total - 3.94s

So is the problem with my SSL certificate lookup (SSL - 1.77s) or my site (Connect -2.00s) or both?

Thank You,
Joseph

nissangtr and tijn,

I'm hosting a VPS with Beyond Hosting. I opened a ticket asking them to check why my response time was over 3s - 4s. They're stating that the issue is the number of redirects with my CPV Lab landing page. I don't understand how that could be because I'm only using the standard setup and I am only setting up one or two offer pages for the offer.

Am I missing something? Is there some setting in CPV Lab that controls the number of redirects?

I would push back and show the pingdom stats which clearly show that the delay is before the multiple redirects. Normally they are quit good in sorting stuff out.

I sent the Pingdom stats and all they did was recommend a good CPV Lab Forum and point at the redirects. I will do this again with actual numbers and see if I can get some to take some action on this.

Thank You Tijn...
